If you have more than three decades under your belt, you will appreciate the latest two custom Xbox 360 faceplates to hit eBay. Created by renowned faceplate maker SpaceGhost2K (I have one of his Halo-themed pieces adorning my 360 right now), all the proceeds from both auctions will be donated to Child’s Play, a gamer-driven charity that is dedicated to improving the lives of sick children everywhere. One of the faceplates bears the likenesses of the beyond hilarious duo Cheech & Chong (along with their autographs which were acquired at the “Cheech & Chong Light Up America and Canada” tour) and the other features the signature of June Foray with portrayals of a plethora of characters she has voiced over the years. Bid on a faceplate, help the children, you know the drill. Off you go!

Now You See Me, Now You Don’t

The only thing better than picking up a shotgun, grabbing active camo, and completely obliterating people’s faces is grabbing that active camo (along with a few stickies) and planting glowing blue orbs on opponents’ backs who unknowingly run right past you. That is why this active camouflage-themed trio, which is currently up for grabs on eBay with a starting bid of US $59.99, is absolutely screaming my name. A custom clear Halo 3 Xbox 360 faceplate (adorned with the United Nations Space Command Defense Force insignia) comes bundled with a matching miniature Master Chief Kubrick figure and also a mock plasma grenade. The illuminated by a blue-white LED and a red laser Covenant explosive also comes with a little metal cup to sit in. Like that sucker wouldn’t always be in your hands or otherwise somehow in use. I wonder if that sticky has an enemies only option. I should look into that in the actual game too.

The Man of Many Faceplates

Sometimes you find yourself with a collection so considerable, so comprehensive, that keeping track of each individual item is impossible without a highly detailed and exhaustingly thorough MS Excel spreadsheet. Such is the case with hellon earth159 and his over 300 Xbox 360 faceplate accumulation. Perhaps you remember his lavish console collection, but that previously impressive showing is dwarfed by what his faceplate collection brings to the table. Spanning from widely available to limited edition to one of a kind, his ultimate goal can be summed up with a singular phrase: Gotta have ‘em all. If the teeny tiny spreadsheet does not appease your curiosity about the extent of his faceplate prowess, feel free to take a gander at some more detail-friendly group shots after the jump. Just don’t touch. I don’t think hellon earth159 approves of that.

Need a New Xbox 360 Faceplate?

If you find yourself fancying a new faceplate for your Xbox 360, Xbox Addict is having just the contest for you. They are generously giving away several different faceplates and entering couldn’t be easier. If you want a shot at one of their Call of Duty 4 faceplates, simply send them an email with the subject line “Call of Duty 4.” If you also want one of their FIFA World Cup 2006 Germany faceplates, send another email with the subject line “FIFA 2006.” Along with those two they are giving away Naruto: Rise of a Ninja faceplates and just in case you haven’t picked up on the theme yet, sending them an email with the subject line “Naruto” will count as your formal entry. It will also get you a smack on the head from me for being such a dumb ass and not figuring that out for yourself. There is one more faceplate they are giving away (Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X.) but entering that one is a bit more complicated so hit that particular forum post to get all the details. You have until March 31st to enter, but don’t worry too much if you miss getting your emails off on time because that just means I’ll have a better chance of winning. And I’m not going to complain about that!
