Cortana cosplays typically feature an amazing suit, an amazing makeup job, or an amazing wig, but rarely does one person successfully bring all of those things together. One of the more talented members of Halo costuming and prop site 405th.com is an obvious exception to that rule. Investing the time to create an entire costume from scratch, the aptly named {Cortana gathered Lycra, a needle equipped with stretchy thread, fabric paint, a bead-adorned wig, and water activated, moist cake makeup and proceeded to transform herself into a ridiculously realistic version of our favorite holographic AI character. I would give her the title of Best Cortana Cosplay Ever but I have a vision in my head that consists of nothing but big bewbs and body paint. Until I can get my hands on those pictures, enjoy a few more shots of this costume after the jump.

Love is a many splendored thing. Often it inspires grand gestures intended to bring happiness to the one who makes your heart skip a beat. To some people that means you wake up early each morning to make them amazing and edible video game-themed bento boxes. To others it means you write them sappingly sweet love songs influenced by their favorite video game. To deviantART user Saiyan-Silk it means creating a birthday cake in shape of a certain shapely fictional artificially intelligent character. Her husband’s birthday was quickly approaching, he requested a Cortana cake, and she more than obliged. Based on the Halo: Combat Evolved version of the holographic AI, the delectable cake was finished with beautiful purple smoothed buttercream icing. For the record, even before I saw this cake, I have always preferred the parts with the most frosting. Yup, I’m going for a bewb piece. Deal with tit. I mean it. I mean damn, I’m hungry.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from our ongoing series of Cortana-themed fan art spotlights, it’s that we all have very different preferences of how we like to have our favorite artificially intelligent character depicted. I find myself preferring the more human versions of her as I enjoy the stark contrast to her appearance in the game. Others like it when she is shown closer to her in-game holographic state as it stays truer to the original character.

The last piece of fan art we looked at was quite realistic as it was actually a digitally manipulated stock image so this time around we are traveling to the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Created by deviantART member ~PaintedSamurai, my attraction to this toon-style piece revolves solely around her expression. She has a certain almost annoyed smirk that just seems appropriate for her quirky personality. Be sure to check it out, assuming you can pry your eyes away from her bountiful bosom. If you notice you are frequenting the virtual battlefield of Halo 3’s multiplayer more than the comfortably familiar campaign these days, you may find yourself missing the sporadic appearances of a certain sexy holographic character. Featuring real blue stained glass accents and silver etching throughout the faceplate, the very familiar Halo logo sits behind a Cortana figure whose ass appears to be glued to the power button. I personally don’t care for the appearance of this faceplate as it’s much too busy for my tastes, but it may make a nice collectible for anybody who is particularly passionate about Halo. Then again, $90 seems a bit pricey so perhaps you should just grab your own Cortana action figure, set it next to your console, and call it good. Don’t worry, you can still press that certain little area when you turn on your console if it makes you feel better.

Cortana played a small but pivotal role last week in the triangular love story told through a short series of pictures, but this week she regains her rightful place as queen of all artificial intelligence. Before we get to a new piece of fan art though, I’d like to provide you with some closure to the previous story of one Hunter’s heartbreak. Jedigeek93 posted a follow-up to that series yesterday, the ending of which will not surprise you. The final chapter is appropriately titled Revenge.

While I feel very little pity for the Big Daddy, the loss of Cortana is a sad development. If that particular Cortana looked anything like the Cortana that is featured today, at least we can understand why the Big Daddy ultimately succumbed to temptation. Today’s piece, titled I am Your Soul and created by deviantART user =Halcylon, started as a stock image and then was digitally manipulated to transform the subject into a subtle version of Cortana. In general I am extremely drawn to the more realistic versions of her, perhaps because of the contrast to her non-physical state in the game, but this one in particular pulled me in the second I laid eyes on it. Expect your Cortana obsession to get just a bit more intense after viewing this image. As always, I’d love to hear your overall opinion but I’m also curious to know your thoughts regarding if her expression accurately portrays Cortana’s distinctive personality. While Cortana has been the focal point of all the fan art spotlights thus far, she grudgingly takes the backseat this week to a rather unorthodox pairing of video game characters. Fret not though because our favorite enticing holographic AI character does make a brief appearance towards the end of this series of pictures so she’ll be there, just not as much as you are accustomed to.

Our first piece of featured fan art was jaw-dropping sexy, the second was morbidly disturbing, the third was classically cartoonish, and the fourth is none of the above. Actually a short series of pictures created by deviantART user Jedigeek93, it tells the triangular love story of an adventurous Big Daddy, a heartbroken Hunter, and a very mischievous Cortana. While this particular spotlight won’t appeal to everybody, I found the unlikely pairing of the Big Daddy and Hunter to be quite appealing. Maybe because it’s unexpected, perhaps because they have similar body types but it just seemed right to me (until the end of course). Enjoy the oddly unique tale these pictures tell, and then let’s swap personal interpretations. I’m curious to hear what everybody thinks.

Last week, according to the comments, I traumatized numerous people with the very dark and disturbing depiction of Cortana I posted. This time around I have decided to be nice (enjoy it while it lasts, it’s typically a very cursory event) and make it up to you. As many of you know, ZZoMBiEXIII of Another Halo Comic Strip recently announced that he will no longer be creating his popular regularly updated comic series. While his fans may still be heartbroken, I’ll be darned if I am going to let him slip away into obscurity. A new Cortana piece appeared in his deviantART gallery a few days ago so that is the delicious piece of eye candy available for your ogling pleasure today. Done in the “Bruce Timm style seen in the Batman and Superman animated series from the 90s”, it has ZZoMBiEXIII written all over it. I love the belly button and … wait, are those bewbs I see?

Last week for fan art we looked at Cortana 2.0, a fleshy more modern version of our favorite holographic AI character that many of you enjoyed. (And by enjoyed I mean ogled over and commented about her bewbs.) This week goes in the complete opposite direction with something slightly more disturbing. (And by slightly more disturbing I mean there are no bewbs.)

This piece titled “Damned Cortana” was done by ~xalener, a deviantART user whom by first glance appears to enjoy creating things that are a little more unsettling in nature. His version of Cortana is exactly how I would picture her if she succumbed to the advances of Gravemind. Viewing this as a piece of art that is meant to elicit an emotional response, what do you think of this rather ghastly depiction of Cortana?
