What’s the best thing about having kids? The act of making ‘em. What’s the second best thing about having kids? How freakin’ adorable they can be. While they’re mainly preoccupied with being obnoxious little brats, every once in a while you have the good fortune of catching one that has successfully entered full-fledged cute mode. This little guy, with his spot on Mega Man impersonation, definitely fits in the latter group. Let’s just say I’d hit that. Hey, don’t judge! I’m old school and still believe in spanking, what can I say?

While my favorite Halo 3 double experience playlist of choice is easily Team Flag, this weekend’s ‘4th of July‘ option sounds decently fun as well. I’d replace decently with exceptionally if it weren’t for the whole Rocket/Splaser Slayer thing. Talk about torture! I’ll tell you what’s not torture though, and that’s our regular screenshot captioning activities. Let’s recap the best of last week’s answers and then we can do it all over again!

Last week I made a comment that the image didn’t have any obvious shock site references. I would like to officially take that back now as there were a minimum of three different comments pertaining just to that. Consider me impressed with your abilities to relate anything to that subject matter! This week the focus changes though as I selected an image relating to the holiday weekend. The theme of the week is ‘explosives’ and is there a screenshot better than this to reflect that? I think not so get to captioning!

Bungie day, the only day of the year that gives Santa Claus a run for his money, is quickly approaching. Last year we celebrated the magical seven-filled date with a colossal compilation of thank yous that included words, words, and more words. This year it’s all about the image and that wonderful number that follows six and precedes eight. To be included in this year’s special community article that will be published on 07.07.09, send your contribution (or questions) to hawtymcbloggy [at] gmail [dot] com. Submissions should be of the image or video variety and must somehow include the number seven. Maybe you can create a gorgeous piece of Forge art crafting the number seven out of a variety of weapons. Maybe you can send a link to a short YouTube clip featuring your first Killimanjaro. Maybe you can open up your Paint program and draw something Mister Chief-ish. Maybe you can prove your Photoshop prowess with an image that is simply beyond stunning. The only requirement is that it celebrates Halo and seven is somehow involved. Submissions (including your gamertag for credit purposes) should reach my inbox by the 6th. You’ve only got five days so off you go!

Every once in a while you stumble upon a game trailer so beautiful, so incredible, so unbelievably amazing that you watch it twenty times in a row, jaw dropped each and every time, and then immediately haul ass to the nearest game store to reserve your copy. You schedule your days off around the release, you tell your friends to not bother you during that time period, and you stock up on food so you don’t have to leave the house until the game sees completion. This is one of those games. Prepare to be stunned to a state of complete and utter disbelief because that will happen just as soon as you hit play, …

Despite the fact The Fundfax Fairraiser had to end early (please remember you can always donate via Marissa’s page at absolutely any given time), there are still plenty of updates about its current status. According to my very rough estimates, the community managed to raise well over $6,000 in four very short days. All goals I had made were surpassed in the first 24 hours and for that I would like to express my deep gratitude to each and every one of you. It may have not run the course I had originally intended, but I refuse to call this anything but a success!

Prizes continue to roll in and several things have been added to the various prize pools (which are outlined below and have also been added to the main page). My goal is to air the drawing via a live video stream broadcast on the internet but I have no experience with that and was expecting to have more time to iron out the details. Anybody who can offer advice on a website to use for this and any other pertinent information that could be beneficial, please let me know! Otherwise, I will continue my research and post the date and time when I have finalized the details. It will be coming, and it will be coming soon.
