While I have seen some absolutely delicious handheld console cases, this is the first one that has actually made my mouth water. This handmade cozy, which was crafted to fit a Nintendo DS Lite, features a pair of the most delectable desserts imaginable. Round, perky, and awaiting a hungry mouth, utilizing this luscious gaming accessory is sure to give you frequent cravings for something unbelievably sweet. Wait a second, those are bewbs? Console modder Carl is a lot like Batman, well besides the fact that his parents didn’t get brutally murdered in front of his eyes and he doesn’t lead a life of fighting crime in an effort to avenge their untimely death. While he may or may not frequently sport a bat-themed costume (that morsel of information remains unknown), he does practice one trade by day and another by night. A carpenter during the sunlight hours, Carl dabbles in modding Xbox 360s long after the sun has gone down. His most recent endeavor was inspired by The Dark Knight and features everybody’s favorite schizophrenic clown. The only thing better than picking up a shotgun, grabbing active camo, and completely obliterating people’s faces is grabbing that active camo (along with a few stickies) and planting glowing blue orbs on opponents’ backs who unknowingly run right past you. That is why this active camouflage-themed trio, which is currently up for grabs on eBay with a starting bid of US $59.99, is absolutely screaming my name. A custom clear Halo 3 Xbox 360 faceplate (adorned with the United Nations Space Command Defense Force insignia) comes bundled with a matching miniature Master Chief Kubrick figure and also a mock plasma grenade. The illuminated by a blue-white LED and a red laser Covenant explosive also comes with a little metal cup to sit in. Like that sucker wouldn’t always be in your hands or otherwise somehow in use. I wonder if that sticky has an enemies only option. I should look into that in the actual game too.

Sometimes you find yourself with a collection so considerable, so comprehensive, that keeping track of each individual item is impossible without a highly detailed and exhaustingly thorough MS Excel spreadsheet. Such is the case with hellon earth159 and his over 300 Xbox 360 faceplate accumulation. Perhaps you remember his lavish console collection, but that previously impressive showing is dwarfed by what his faceplate collection brings to the table. Spanning from widely available to limited edition to one of a kind, his ultimate goal can be summed up with a singular phrase: Gotta have ‘em all. If the teeny tiny spreadsheet does not appease your curiosity about the extent of his faceplate prowess, feel free to take a gander at some more detail-friendly group shots after the jump. If you find yourself fancying a new faceplate for your Xbox 360, Xbox Addict is having just the contest for you. They are generously giving away several different faceplates and entering couldn’t be easier. If you want a shot at one of their Call of Duty 4 faceplates, simply send them an email with the subject line “Call of Duty 4.” If you also want one of their FIFA World Cup 2006 Germany faceplates, send another email with the subject line “FIFA 2006.” Along with those two they are giving away Naruto: Rise of a Ninja faceplates and just in case you haven’t picked up on the theme yet, sending them an email with the subject line “Naruto” will count as your formal entry. It will also get you a smack on the head from me for being such a dumb ass and not figuring that out for yourself. There is one more faceplate they are giving away (Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X.) but entering that one is a bit more complicated so hit that particular forum post to get all the details. You have until March 31st to enter, but don’t worry too much if you miss getting your emails off on time because that just means I’ll have a better chance of winning. And I’m not going to complain about that!

From offering a basic level of protection for your favorite technological gadget to keeping it safe from scratches, dirt, and other disadvantageous perils, utilizing a case or shell for your handheld console is a must. While the general preservation purpose is its most important feature, that doesn’t mean it can’t look good while simultaneously serving your safeguard needs. Apparently it doesn’t mean it can’t taste good either as these delectable handmade Japanese Nintendo DS shells (that will run you anywhere from $28 to $45 USD) so readily demonstrate. Don’t let the impracticality scare you either. Looking good always comes with a cost, and in this case it’s at the loss of being even remotely pragmatic. Be warned, if anybody tries to tell me these are the most atrocious things you have ever laid eyes upon, I will then happily present you with the overly blinged eyesores of yesteryear. Enjoy drooling over all these delicious handheld cases, and don’t blame me if you suddenly begin craving large amounts of sugar.
