No Love For the PlayStation

There is nothing I love more than wearing my video games around my neck. Sometimes I will even wear them in my nose. I have yet to wear them around my wrist though, but this bracelet just may change that.

Purchase here : sophiesbead’s Etsy Store
Price : $24.99

This video game controller-themed bracelet features handmade polymer clay charms. Receiving some love on this adorable piece of jewelry are miniature versions of an Xbox 180 controller, an Xbox 360 controller, an NES controller, an Nintendo gun controller, a Wiimote, an X-plorer guitar, and an Atari joystick. Noticeably absent is anything even remotely PlayStation related. I guess it scores points for accuracy, eh?

I Wear My Controller Around My Neck

I am strangely addicted to video game-themed jewelry, but you knew that already. Remember my beyond adorable Guitar Hero necklace? I loved it so much that I had to order another item from the same store, this time a custom pink Xbox 360 controller necklace.

Quality is just as high with this necklace as my last one. It is insanely detailed, down to the d-pads and the guide button. She attached colored beads (that coordinate with the button colors) to the side of it, a little touch that I simply love. This piece cost me about $20 total including shipping and handling, which is well worth it considering how often I sport it. Skybluebunny, the creative force behind these tiny gaming-themed pieces of jewelry, accepts custom orders so you can always send her a message via Etsy if you absolutely can’t live without something like this. I know I certainly can’t.

A Necklace that Rocks

Not so long ago I came across this absolutely adorable necklace that features a polymer clay Guitar Hero controller charm. I began writing up one of my usual “Etsy Finds” articles except I purchased the necklace about two sentences in. Oops. Needless to say, I deleted the draft and then sat by my mailbox for the next week until my package arrived.

Once it magically appeared on my doorstep, I tore open the box, ogled its beauty, and haven’t taken it off since. The quality and detail of the charm are just phenomenal. I’m sure you can tell by the picture that it’s ridiculously cute, but it’s even more amazing in person if you can believe that. Ready for another shocker? I snagged this thing for $12.50. You should be very jealous.

The Etsy seller I purchased this from, skybluebunny, has not listed another one of these necklaces unfortunately for you. However in her shop announcement she does say “if you want a sold-out item from my “sold items” list, don’t hesitate to send me a message; I’d be happy to work with you” so don’t lose all hope. You may be able to get one if you say please. Please just make sure you don’t wear it on the same day I do. That would be embarrassing.

Pac-Man Nose Ring

I got power back just in time to discover and snag this adorable Pac-Man inspired nose ring. Made from 20 gauge sterling silver wire, the creator balled the end, sculpted it until it was just right, and put it in a tumbler. The fruit of her labor is a hard, polished nose ring reminiscent of your retro gaming days.

Purchase here : littlesomething’s Etsy Store
Price : $17

The “purchase here” link will take you to the nose ring section of her store because I already bought this one. I would expect she will be listing more though as she has two shown in the picture. Plus, she takes custom orders so you can always just send her a message via Etsy if you get impatient. Which I expect you to, because this is simply the cutest nose ring I have ever seen.

I know supreme geekiness does not come naturally to others, and that is why I am here to help you out. You’re welcome.

The Companion Cube Necklace

First it was soft and cuddly. Then it was tiny and made out of paper. Now it is pendant sized and would make a wonderful necklace. This Companion Cube is hopefully not extremely weighted though. You don’t want to get a neck cramp or anything.

Press Here to Turn Me On

Do you want to know the secret to turning someone on? Buy them this ring, put it on their finger, then simply press it. Voila, mission accomplished.

turn me on ring

This ring is actually the power button from a MacBook (although I see the power button on the Xbox 360 when I look at it). Even though it has been turned into a piece of jewelry, the button can still be pushed down. Imagine how funny it would be if you bought your significant other this ring and simply pushed the button any time you were in the mood.

You : *pushes the button
Significant other : What are you doing?
You : Well, I just turned you on. You ready to do it or what?

See what I mean? Simplifies foreplay significantly. If you are looking to cut a few corners with the whole “turning on” thing, this ring can be purchased for only $5 (plus $2 shipping) at Thelovelyteaspoon’s Shop . She currently has only one for sale so if you are interested in this, click that purchase button asap. You can come back and thank me later.

Top Five Viciousedge Necklaces for the FPS Girl

One of my favorite places to browse on Etsy these days is Viciousedge’s Shop. Her stuff is amazingly cute, retro, and violent all at the same time. Many of the phrases on her necklaces are perfect for us gals that are obsessed with games such as Halo and Gears of War. Here is a personal list I have compiled out of her current inventory of her top five necklaces for the FPS girl. Enjoy!
