Rorschach inkblot tests provide incredible insight into a person’s personality characteristics and emotional functioning. Regardless of the type of ambiguous design displayed, the answers and information gleaned from them are always fascinating. We’ve learned a tremendous amount about each other through our regular Halo 3 Heatmap tests, and I have no doubt today will prove just as entertaining as previous ones. Before we analyze another image though, let’s take a look at the results from the last one we did which took place back in October. The featured map was Heretic and Not Funny kicked off the comments with a Big Daddy reference. Entirely too many people to count found themselves agreeing.

Other video games are usually a popular answer during these festivities, but someone always brings it back to Halo. DieByYourUncleBob insisted the image bore resemblance to the Grunt Head emblem and numerous others, along with myself, saw it as well.

A few other interesting answers included mendicantbias00 saying Lego Princess Leia and Louis Wu citing Dr. Eggman. Unable to choose my favorite between the two, I thought I would leave it up to all of you to decide which one more resembles the Midship remake.

Right as we ran out of room for picture comparisons, I came across Noah’s response of goatse. Talk about bad timing! Unfortunately I’ll have to leave you to judge the similarity of the images in your head as it’s now time to dissect yet another Halo 3 Global Heatmap. The subject of our twelfth enlightening psychological evaluation is Orbital, a docking-station featuring two overlapping hallways. So tell me, what exactly do you see? And as always, extra nonexistent points for originality!

Many of you have fallen victim to the latest video game bug often referred to as MW2 but if you find yourself still free of its grasp, perhaps this weekend’s Halo 3 double EXP  offering will appeal to you. It’s called Team Control and it basically offers up all the gametypes you typically veto in one handy playlist. Tempting, right? I missed my regular Halo sessions last weekend so today finds me suffering from serious withdrawal symptoms. Thankfully the current Double EXP playlist of choice, the always enjoyable Grifball, is one of my favorites meaning I can look forward to two solid days of alternating between pounding and getting pounded. Last Friday I ruined Crazy A 64’s day. Apparently our regular caption festivities have found a permanent place in his morning routine and the cursory Rorschach Inkblot Test greatly disrupted that consistency. I simply don’t have it in my heart to do that to him two weeks in a row so for this week at least we will caption. It’s been a while since we’ve done a Halo 3 Heatmap Rorschach Inkblot Test, almost seven months to the day to be exact. That number seemed ripe for a comeback so I would like to propose that we take a one week break from Friday Caption Fun to try our hand at deciphering another amorphous image. Well, I guess I’m not exactly proposing as much as I am forcing it upon you but why fight about the particulars when we can instead get down and dirty with some peer psychoanalyzing! We last left off with Assembly, where the majority of people obviously had Halo on the brain. Alessandro first noted the resemblance to the Spark that is Guilty while Queen 0f Blades thought of the rather explosive trip mine.

While numerous people followed suit with the Halo references (with even Forerunner symbols being brought up by pittofdoom), an equal number of people, the first of which was DeepCee,  saw a Tyrannosaurus Rex skull.

While I have no idea what people will see in this week’s Global Heatmap, I look forward to the very small glimpse it allows me into each of your twisted minds. The subject of our eleventh enlightening psychological evaluation is Heretic, the bane of my I-suck-with-the-br existence dating all the way back to Halo 2. Instead of getting sidetracked with a rant about the horrors of spawning with a plasma rifle, I will instead ask you, “What do you see?” And as always, extra nonexistent points for originality!

Some of you may find yourself enjoying the randomness of Fiesta (the double EXP playlist of choice) this weekend. Others will be playing their favorite video game while simultaneously fighting both breast and cervical cancer in the 4th Annual Fight Like a Girl Charity Tournament. While the last image showed someone riding an animal (and for the record, I’m referring to the zebra, not Dare!), the following screenshot shows some Spartans on a boat. I don’t really see a Vanilla Ice Reach soundtrack as being all that bad. After all, he’s been sending words to your mother since before Bungie even developed an interest in her. While he may rock the mic like a vandal, the ODST in the following screenshot is rocking something completely different, and that would be a horse. Go ahead and tell me your interpretation of the picture, preferably in the form of a witty caption please!
