Sometimes you see images that are so incredibly horrendous that they remain permanently etched in the corners of your mind despite your best attempts to erase them. For some of you, Lemon Party is an example of that. For others, Tub Girl comes to mind. For me, it is these atrociously blinged handheld consoles. Someone make these traumatizing pictures go away. Please, I am begging you.

If you like bling as much as I do, you will adore these wonderfully embellished Pac-Man grenades that are available for a mere $350. I would consider them a definite must have for any hardcore Pac-Man fan. Or anybody who likes horrendously gaudy things. Which may or may not be me.

It’s not easy being a papercraft Master Chief, especially when you have bling around your visor, a pastel pink bow on your helmet, and you are smaller than usual since the person who made you didn’t realize you were supposed to rotate the image to make you larger (cough). The other action figures make fun of you because your armor is not as sturdy as theirs. They laugh at your pitiful minuscule size. They giggle at how girly you are (probably because they don’t realize you are in fact a girl). The land of the Spartan figures is a tough place to survive so when the always sweet Setters emailed me about the new Cubee Craft Halo accessory pack (1), I immediately grabbed my cardstock, scissors, glue, and crystals and prepared for some serious crafting. I figured having some weapons may help my adorable little paper Master Chief defend herself properly.

Cubee Craft (a website featuring free downloadable papercraft designs) recently released their version of our favorite Spartan stud. While I have always loved looking at various beloved video game characters crafted from paper, I have never tried to actually do it myself. Until today that is.

As someone that has blinged things before, I can tell you that while you may get sticker shock when first seeing the pricetag, that really is the deal of the century. Swarovski crystals do not come cheap and I would be surprised if that price even covers the cost of the crystals themselves, much less all the labor that went into it. As time passes it will more than likely require a little maintenance (as far as gluing back on any crystals that may randomly fall off) but that minor nuisance is well worth the beauty of the faceplate.

It’s no secret that I absolutely adore the work of custom Xbox 360 faceplate creator SpaceGhost2K. Unfortunately for him someone may be taking over his highly coveted spot though. Who is the current mover and shaker in the designing faceplates world? Well that would be his mom. Apparently she is such a fan of his work that she decided to give it a go herself. The pictures are of the same plate, one with the flash on (so you can gaze adoringly upon the light reflecting off the brilliantly cut crystals) and the other with the flash off. This faceplate has a black background so it would look best on an Elite. As I have the plain ol’ white box, I guess I will have to wait for another option. Perhaps it will have pink in it.

On a side note, can you believe I made it through this whole article without a “your mom” joke? Someone give me a medal.

There is nothing more beautiful than glorious sunlight reflecting off of brilliantly cut crystals causing mesmerizing patterns of light to dance around the room. Oh how I love anything and everything bling. And yes, if bling were a person I would marry it. In a heartbeat.

You can imagine how my heart skipped a beat when I first saw this eye catching blinged Nintendo Wii. Even though I am not a humongous Zelda fan, this dazzling Wii that is covered in (what appear to be gold and black) Swarovski crystals definitely got my attention.

Bling My Thing is a German based company that offers the art of crystal customization on a wide range of accessories (my favorites being various gaming consoles of course). It is by far the best company that exists for this service. They have an extremely talented staff that designs and creates stunning pieces of art out of crystals.

The Bling My Thing team is led by Ayano Kimura, who had very specific thoughts and ideas about what she wanted to accomplish when the company was founded. From the biography page :

By the summer of 2005, however, Ayano had decided to return her first love – art – and decided to introduce the idea of “deko-den” to the European market. Ayano was aware of the crystal customisations that were starting to be seen in the US , but knew that she could do better.
