Pikachu Onigiri

Happy Pikachu Onigiri

Onigiri is a Japanese food made from white rice that is formed into either a triangular or oval shape and often comes adorned with everybody’s favorite edible marine plant. Put in simpler terms, it’s a ball. Of rice. This particular onigiri, which was crafted from leftover sushi, features a face made up of little bits of seaweed and also crab pieces that double as cheeks. All I see though is a certain short, chubby, ground-dwelling rodent from Pokémon. Don’t worry adorable Pikachu onigiri, I definitely choose you!

Video Game Switch Cover

Mike, someone who loves his video games, was looking at the bare switch cover in his bathroom one day and decided it was time to dress it up. Thinking as only a true gamer can, he came up with the brilliant idea of labeling each switch with a corresponding Xbox 360 achievement icon. He represented light with Basic Inventor from BioShock (successfully invent at least one item), he chose Shadowrun’s Blowhard for the exhaust (gust five enemies to their deaths), but the most clever one’s the heat switch. Known to emit a rather unpleasant aroma when in use, it’s adorned with the Vanilla Crazy Cake from Portal. Mike recommends never flipping that particular knob. In other words, yes, the heat switch is a lie. But I’m guessing you already knew that.

The Blanket Project

Babies are awesome. Not only are they freakin’ adorable, but they are also the primary reason one of our favorite pairs of body parts, the ever popular mammary glands, grow to delightfully large proportions. In my opinion, and hopefully yours, that’s reason enough to support The Blanket Project. Coordinated by GivingChiX, a charity-focused division of GamerchiX, gamers will be coming together tomorrow, February 20th, to make baby blankets for Solid Ground (a group dedicated to helping women, children and families overcome homelessness). Monetary donations are appreciated as each one is expected to cost $10 USD apiece. If you are in the Seattle area, you can also help with the actual making of the blankets. Now go support the babies! They’ll appreciate it, even if they can’t tell you.
