I was thinking the same thing. I reckon their all on the Wii though.
Also Wii Sports as the #1 selling game of all time is bullshit, cos they just shipped it with every console, so it shouldn’t count. Same goes for Tetris and Super Mario Bros.
Because they’re all the same game. Each color only had one or two Pokemon that the other colors didn’t. It’s kinda like SoulCaliber and the characters that are exclusive to one console.
Because 13 year olds are the most vocal group. Sure the rest of us bitch, whine, moan, groan, and complain, but the 13 year olds do it the loudest and most frequently. That’s my guess anyway.
That’s actually pretty cool. I wish they had one for the percentage of parents that actually check the ESRB rating (or equivalent) before buying their impressionable little bastards an M-rated game.
I always wondered how some bitching little 10 year old can play MW2, an MA-15+ (Sorry, Australian ratings- Mature Audiences, 15+) which is supposed to not be sold to people who don’t at least look or sound 15. I’m nearly 15, but I think I sound the part. So I’m fine.
Truth be told, this surprised me in the least bit. Wii’s sell the most because people have kids who can’s play M-rated games, the seemingly only rating for Xbox’s.
Ah, you play Diablo 2 as well? Such good times back in the day. Morrowind should be up in the list of greatest RPG of all time, though. I’ve been playing a lot of Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament 2004 lately though.
Exactly – including the wii will have seriously messed with the stats.
I will only recognise the wii as a legitimate console, when they release more than a few games that couldn’t do better on another console (Zelda being the only one i can bring to mind so far – Nintendo did good with that).
if the average age of a gamer is 32 and only 25% of gamers is under 18, how is it that 90% of the people i play against on XBL are 12?
I would guess the genre of games, which doesn’t make sense really since a lot of us here enjoy our M-rated titles.
And M rated games are only 15% of sales
@angel
Don’t forget the many, many, M-rated conversations. >.>
giggity.

I also reckon many casual Wii player’s consoles have been collecting dust for months.
Wait, 4 out of 5 people I know don’t use theirs! Damn you flashy Nintendo!
My Wii hasn’t been touched in months. Wait…
meaning that the original Pokemans are technically the best selling games EVER!!
Indeed, which I think is justified and much more fair.
Wait Wait Wait, How can they lump 3 games (pokemons) into 1 set? How bouts we consider H1, H2, and H3 as one game? How bout them sales numbas?
Am I missing something about Red/Green/Blue Pokemon?
@Cardo
Because they’re all the same game. Each color only had one or two Pokemon that the other colors didn’t. It’s kinda like SoulCaliber and the characters that are exclusive to one console.
Pikmin, technically yes and no. The original Sims 1 game was probably by far one of the best selling game ever. http://www.n4g.com/pc/News-135449.aspx

I think I figured it out. 49% of gamers are in the 18-49 group and the median between those two numbers is 32.
Wowwwwww.
Some expected, some not.
No wai.
Is that you?
Anyway, I wasn’t expecting at all that Nintendo has outsold everything.
It was like, “oh.”

I think a lot of people have Wii’s but the majority of gaming hours are logged on the xbox with ps3 a little behind

You mean the only rating for good games. :P
Defiantly, I bet at least half of the E rated games are movie games like “Surf’s Up” and “Madagascar”.
Just for the easy Gamerscore or packaged deals, too. Don’t forget about that.
EAT IT PC GAMERS!!!
*quickly deletes the shortcut to Diablo 2 from his desktop*
Ah, you play Diablo 2 as well? Such good times back in the day. Morrowind should be up in the list of greatest RPG of all time, though. I’ve been playing a lot of Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament 2004 lately though.
They should do this again but not count the Wii or Wii games.
Exactly – including the wii will have seriously messed with the stats.
I will only recognise the wii as a legitimate console, when they release more than a few games that couldn’t do better on another console (Zelda being the only one i can bring to mind so far – Nintendo did good with that).
These stats would be alot more interesting if the wii was removed. The average age and the 2 out of 5 gamers being female would change drastically.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
They should include PC.
Also, I found that the Wii got incredibly boring after the first hour. It’s innovative but boring as hell…
I like how all the Top Selling games are from Nintendo consoles and handhelds.
Hmmmm, I thought the percentage of Teen/Mature rated games would be a bit larger.
I still say Super Mario Bros. deserves the title of best-selling, as it sold like a beast with and without the console.
How many of those are wii fit gamers? Lulz
they should have included “average actual weight loss while playing wii fit” as well… XD
The only reason Wii Sports got Top Selling was because it was originally packaged with the Wii itself.
;)
