The Halo Holiday Giveaway

You can’t spell holidays without Halo (or ho now I think about it) which is why the combining of the two just makes sense. Thanks to the benevolent nature of COL0NEL SANDERS coupled with a few things I found stuck between the cushions of my couch, you now have a shot at getting something you actually want for Christmas instead of the shit your family halfheartedly stuffs in your stocking. Up for grabs is a bundle including Halo 3: ODST (courtesy of our favorite fried chicken-obsessed friend), the Halo Graphic Novel, a set of Halo 3: ODST buttons, and an I HEAR IDIOTS t-shirt. All you have to do for your shot at winning this delightful collection of gamer goodies is take a holiday-themed screenshot using Halo 3′s theater mode. You may interpret holiday-themed however you like, Christmas, snowflakes, New Year’s, whatever floats your December/January boat. You’ve got until the 30th to submit your entry so read the specifics (located after the jump) and then get to snapping some screenshots! Heck, it’s better than spending time with your freak of a family, right?
- Take a holiday-themed screenshot using Halo 3′s theater mode. You may enter as many times as your little fingers can snap the take screenshot button.
- Any and all types of image editing are allowed and encouraged.
- You must use a Halo 3 screenshot that is available in your File Share as the base of your image.
- Send entries to hawtymcbloggy [at] gmail [dot] com, subject line HALO HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY. Please include your (valid) gamertag and a link to your File Share along with the name of the base screenshot.
- Entries will be accepted until Wednesday, December 30th at 11:59 pm PT with finalists announced on January 1st. Public voting will then take place January 1st through the 4th. The winner will be the person who acquires the most votes.

Best of luck to everybody, I hope that anyone who owns the game would either sell it to charity or give it to someone who doesn’t have it. That would be the best thing.

Can I use an image I made last year, as long as I re-take the base image?
Yup! It doesn’t matter when the screenshot was taken or if the image was already made. As long as the base is a screenshot located in your File Share, you’re good. :)

I have this one picture taken by a friend, but technically we both share credit. The description says Special thanks to Black Theorem. and I worked with him on it, and it’s in both mine and his fileshare, but he took the shot because he had widescreen set up on his box at the time. Is it possible to submit the screenshot?

It depends. If you are submitting the exact, unaltered screenshot, you need to be the author on it. If you are just using it as the base and then photoshopping or using some sort of program to embellish it, then it’s ok if it’s your friend’s shot as long as it’s hosted in your File Share. Hope that makes sense!
