A Rockin’ Christmas Light Display
December 14, 2009 18 Comments

If you think your neighbor has the most annoying, not to mention loud, holiday-themed light display ever, either you live next to this Clark Griswold-like fellow or you are sadly mistaken. Ric Turner, who just happens to be a former special effects specialist, decked out his house this year with a total of 21,268 lights and LEDs that magically transformed his garage into a fully functional Guitar Hero station (a video of which is located after the jump). Playing Cliffs of Dover because there was apparently nothing more festive available, it only features three columns of lights which is really ok as that drastically lowers the ear-deafening screeching of repeated missed notes caused by frozen, numb fingers. I can only assume this was a thinly veiled attempt to get his children to play outside more. Well played, Mr. Turner, well played.

Not too memorable, I guess.
I wonder if he was playing, or if it was a program. Either way, it is an amazing piece of hardware. Awesome!
If you watch carefully you can see the TV off to the side. So he’s most likely actually playing.
What I read said that it was playable. People within range can listen to the audio on the radio, missed notes and all!
wow i wish i was that spoiled for christmas… all i got was some stupid presents… and legos… which werent that bad, but that was the max.
btw, i love the snow thing on the website.
I got a rock.
What I really want this year is a Red Ryder BB Gun!
don’t lie…we all know women can’t read
Yet they can still type and respond to your comments.
Oh yeah.
And I apologize that sarcasm doesn’t transfer well over the internet.
Seeing the video? Cool. Living on the street where that house is? A nightmare. Man… I’d move.
I saw something about this on wikipedia. He has his own really short range FM signal that he uses for sound and does shows some nights.
Awesome showing. This is just as cool as that one house that did the TransSiberian Orchestra scene that one year
Best Lights Evar!!!
I’d like to see Through The Fire And Flames on their garage!
Look at the nearby TV. So fake.
we saw that but apparently its real. just enjoy it. i did
Love the tree display… Genius. But…. theres no way he did that himself.
Imagine if he programmed it to play on expert. Zing!
Why hello there electrical bill. Good bye life savings.
