If you are at all intrigued by Halo Legends, a series of seven short anime-styled films produced by Microsoft’s 343 Industries that focuses on the rich Halo universe, today is the day to watch the first full episode. Titled The Babysitter and putting the spotlight on the rivalry between the SPARTAN-II Commandos and the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, the video will be available via WayPoint for 24 hours only. My day has already started and if yours has too, you should probably hurry and get it while the getting’s good. I’m hoping for bewbs. And perhaps a tentacle or three as well.

meh it’s alright but I saw it yesterday
timezones rule!!!

Are you from the future? O_o
Posted by David Delgado on November 7, 2009 at 4:40 pm
Apparently, so am I. o__o
The episode of the Babysitter had been up for me since yesterday morning. It isn’t no longer available to me, though.
Ckecked everything, and all seems to be in order. Probably they commited a mistake in schedules because of timezones, but sure as hell not an unwelcome one. (for me, at least)

:Logs onto XBL to at least give this a chance:

Not too bad…
Posted by JohnKiller118 on November 7, 2009 at 2:30 pm
I watched it. It was pretty good. Though there isn’t any meme worthy lines like “OVER 9000!!!!!”
Oh, and why must every anime have cute boys that look like girls with spiky hair?
But I’ll defiantly watch the other six, just because I’m so intrigued now.

“Oh, and why must every anime have cute boys that look like girls with spiky hair?”
Ehh, that’s just how it is. It kind of comes with the genre.

That reminds me of Charlie Murphy telling stories about the 80’s, when the more a guy looked like a girl, the more girls he got. I guess if you haven’t seen Chapelle’s show, that won’t make sense though….
Posted by Cyanide & Happiness on November 7, 2009 at 5:20 pm
where did the over 9000 meme start anyway?

So what are those of us without Waypoint supposed to do? Someone might put it on Youtube, but it’ll probably get yanked pretty quick. Unless 343 has a youtube page, but I doubt that…
Posted by bs angel on November 7, 2009 at 2:40 pm
I think Waypoint is available to Silver Accounters as well right now. Do you have one of those by chance?
Posted by pittofdoom on November 7, 2009 at 7:52 pm
Nope. I am completely without Xbox Live, unfortunately. I hope to rectify that come Christmas, though.
Posted by bs angel on November 7, 2009 at 8:40 pm
Definitely try keeping an eye on YouTube then. As you mentioned, it will get pulled quickly but maybe you can get a watch in first.

It was good. I rather liked it in spite of my reservations.
The animation may leave a little to be desired in some instances, but the story was good and added more insight into the fiction of the Halo Universe. I hope the others are just as good or better.

I felt that having the Spartan with long wavy hair was stupid. But, yes, it was a good story, fairly good animation, and worth the wait.
Posted by xxxJL AUDIOxxx on November 8, 2009 at 8:37 am
I thought it was a hot Spartan chick, that was a DUDE?!?!?!? I”d do him…errr, I mean her, yeah, definitely her, but not a him, that would just be awkward.

I was kinda thinking the whole time,
“They’ve done an injustice to spartans. The armor looks all funny.”
But that was replaced by
“DAMN She’s Hot!”

I saw this yesterday also, i like it so far but does anybody know how many episodes there is?
Posted by Apollo Running on November 7, 2009 at 3:21 pm
I really enjoyed this episode. I love anything to do with the Halo story, so even though I’m not an anime guy, i can get past it for the story, which was great in my opinion and definitely shed some light on the relationship between ranks in the UNSC.
Also angel, you posted it, you have to watch it ; )

I see no such included clause in this article!
Posted by DTA MoonDawg on November 7, 2009 at 3:45 pm
I thought it was pretty good. I really didn’t associate it with the actual Halo universe until Cal said, “Give this to Halsey…”
Then I was all like xD
Posted by Zero on November 7, 2009 at 3:58 pm
That was pretty damn good!. Im tempted to buy it on blu-ray purely so I can watch it on my PS3. Oh the irony! xD
Posted by Sean C84 on November 7, 2009 at 4:36 pm
It wasn’t too bad at all. Some of the art stye bugged me, especially the “not human and not covenant” structures that looked just like generic asian architecture, but I guess that’s a pretty small gripe. Not looking forward to the one including the spartan with 1337 written on his chest though. His helmet looks like an armored baseball cap.
Posted by soulofaqua on November 7, 2009 at 5:24 pm
That one is the only non-canon one and is kind of a parody.
Posted by HellCat on November 7, 2009 at 4:39 pm
I saw it ages ago (NZ sees the sun first FTW) and thought it was amazing. The artwork and animation was good except the spartan was too blocky. It looked like fucking lego
Posted by soulofaqua on November 7, 2009 at 5:23 pm
If you go to extras > sketchbook you can see a sketch of a grunt with his respirator off!!! they’re quite ugly to be honest…
Posted by Radius on November 7, 2009 at 5:24 pm
If it had been a stand alone anime series, it would have been fine. However, it was part of the Halo series. And that means there is a little something called cannon that must be upheld. And I do not remember brutes being about the size of an elephant or Forrunner ruins being Japanese Pagodas.
Then there was the shitty dialog and predictable plot. But I guess that’s normal for anime serieses.

Breasts and tentacles? You wouldn’t be “Rapelay”ing it up would you?
Posted by Visitor at home on November 7, 2009 at 6:18 pm
Hey Hawty. Slightly off topic (already commented) But, about that Playdate. Do I have to send a friend request/message before the date, or on it? Just curious.
kthxby.
Posted by bs angel on November 7, 2009 at 7:05 pm
Sending a friend request before would be optimal. Have you already sent me one by chance?
Posted by KalamariKidd on November 7, 2009 at 6:35 pm
Needs more bewbs, and more tentacles.
Posted by Poopie McGhee on November 7, 2009 at 8:04 pm

I MISSED IT T_T wheres that suicide pill
Posted by Staticrift on November 8, 2009 at 9:14 am
It wasnt as good as i had hoped but it was alright. I guessed the spartan was a girl when I watched the preview of the episode so the dramatic revealing was lost on me. Anyways, still looking forward for the next one.
Posted by burning crusade on November 8, 2009 at 12:24 pm
the spartan reminds me of hanazano shizuma from a certain anime.
Posted by Bigglesworth on November 8, 2009 at 1:50 pm
I liked it. but when they took the spartans helmet off, where the hell did she keep all that hair? are apartan helmets like the Tardis and have an infinite amount of space inside them? lol
Posted by davyboy94 on November 8, 2009 at 2:50 pm
No thats Jims brain
Posted by Chris Haldor on November 8, 2009 at 3:27 pm
I liked it, apart from the OVER THE TOP ANIME REACTION!#@@!18″* ’s. They get me annoyed very quickly.
Also, why did Dutch have white hair?
Posted by Crazeye0 on November 9, 2009 at 4:15 pm
“WHY ARE YOU GUYS THROWING ME AROUND?”
Because, ODST’s have fucking super strenght right? that guy was such a dumbass, such an annoying character.
