With the constant tease of a Halo movie hovering over our heads, you would be hard-pressed to find a fellow gaming fanatic that hasn’t envisioned that particular project becoming a reality. Some people enjoy debating what actors should portray the various characters from our favorite virtual universe while others discuss the finer points of the episodic story line. Halcylon, who is more than a little adept in the art of Photoshop, prefers the lesser-used medium of movie posters. Stuck with a serious bout of Halo 3: ODST on the brain, he created an image of the romantically involved Buck and Dare featuring the likenesses of their applicable voice actors (Nathan Fillion and Tricia Helfer respectively). I think there’s only one thing you can say after soaking in the awesomeness that is this picture. I’ll give you a hint: it rhymes with -blam- said Slim Shady.

Precisely what I was thinking.

We know it makes sense so when the hell is the film industry going to wake up to this?!
Halo + Anything = WIN!
Posted by DethPwn on November 4, 2009 at 5:37 pm
Except for action figures. And a single-player campaign lasting a mere 4 hours being sold as a stand-alone disc and hording the new maps to those dim enough to buy it. And RTS’.
Posted by chocobowings on November 5, 2009 at 2:01 pm
It’s co-op. You should rent it if you haven’t tried it; It’s as fun if not more enjoyable than recent Halo titles, and ODST has firefight, which is definitely good for more than 4 hours of gameplay, that is if you aren’t satisfied with the campaign. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to defend yourself by bashing others who bought it full price.
Posted by DethPwn on November 7, 2009 at 9:39 am
I have played through it and have played a few hours of Firefight *coff Horde coff* and can honestly say that I wouldn’t (and won’t) pay more than $20 for it. If it wasn’t Halo it wouldn’t have sold more than Psychonauts, that actually DESERVED high sales.
And saying it’s the entertainment equivalent of any other Halo game is kind of herecy towards the franchise.

Halcyon is just amazing! Wonderful poster.

I’m not sure that “amazing” is good enough descriptor, but I can’t think of anything better. Well done!

Tagline/Subtitle could be better.
But Dare doesn’t look like a tranny so….
+1 in my books!

Now we know what Buck really meant by making sure your girlfriend has balls.
Posted by Scott on November 4, 2009 at 7:43 am
Good work Halcyon. I remember Marty wanted her to have golden flowing hair in ODST, but they told him its that or render the background, lol. Anyway looks good Halcyon!
Posted by smurph on November 4, 2009 at 8:42 am
golden flowing hair kind of gets in the way of combat as well… she’s trying to defend earth. getting in bed with buck comes later.

OMG Dare is a chick!?

Hah. I needed that laugh after a long day. I’ll sleep better now.

Nothing against Tricia Helfer but Dare is rather homely to me. Bungie really needs to get better at characters faces. Bungie puts a huge amount of time and effort with all the artwork in the Halo game but they aren’t very good with faces.
Posted by StuntDouble2483 on November 4, 2009 at 9:23 am
I felt the same way. They did a fairly good job with Fillion, but Helfer got screwed. Dare looks more like Glenn Close.
Not to mention Adam Baldwin and Alan Tudyk, whose likenesses didn’t even make it in-game.
Speaking of Baldwin and Helfer, any one here watch Chuck? Two words: Gun cleaning.

Ok 1. Finally a picture related to Dare that doesn’ t look like my ass.
and 2. Do people not like money because if you made a Halo movie nomatter what its about and nomatter how much you spend your gonna make a shit load of money, theres like 3 trilion halo fans out there and the still isn’t a movie.MAKE THE MOVIE ALREADY
Posted by augustelc on November 4, 2009 at 6:02 pm
yeah but if they screw it up… then its gonna be a total fuck up… however, if its done right them it will be an EPIC movie
Posted by Lancer on November 4, 2009 at 5:38 pm
I don’t understand why movie peoples wouldn’t dump all their money on the table for a Halo movie. Even if the movie sucks, they would make all that money back plus more!
Posted by Harrison on November 4, 2009 at 5:42 pm
MOYCHENDYSIN! where da real money frum da movie is made… XD
well done…brilliant ’shop… XD

That’s all well and good, but may I point to attention the Mortal Kombat movies. And the Street Fighter movie. And Double Dragon. And Super Mario Bros, Dragonball, Pokemon, and the list goes on.
The poster is still win, Halcylon!

I feel sorry for Helfer. Can you imagine how she feels about the big head and chin. I like Dare actually but i wish there was more of her… And more of campaign… a lot more
Posted by Kataru_777 on November 4, 2009 at 11:07 pm
I dont understand why the movie guys dont hire the game guys to help with the movie of the game they made, a fun fact, half the game movies that have been released had almost no help from the game creators themselves, SO HURRY UP GET UR ASSES IN GEAR AND MAKE THESE MOVIES!!!!!!!!!
Posted by musashi on November 5, 2009 at 8:19 am
Actually, the team that made Halo 3: ODST, was the one in charge to help in the process of the halo movie that was planned to be made, but when it got cancelled the team had nothing else to do so they were assigned with odst instead.
Posted by H3kl4 on November 10, 2009 at 4:10 am
Actually, from what I’ve heard, they were supposed to work with Peter Jackson and Wingnut Interactive on the Halo: Chronicles episodic series. It would have been interesting to see what their storyline would be.
Hopefully 343 Industries picks up the gauntlet and finds someone to develop it. And by someone I mean Bungie. C’mon guys don’t say Reach is the end. Pretty please?
Posted by darkrelica on November 5, 2009 at 12:42 am
I think that the poster looks slightly seventies, the characters look like they are from that era, but its a good idea, that i’d like to see go further
