I’m still kinda iffy on it. Most of my complaints involve the design, though, and that can ignored for the most part. For instance, the whiny ODST that claimed to be a great shot. His hair was waaay to long for him to be in the military.
Yes well since when is much in the Halo Universe entirely plausible. It’s fiction. And anime. Get over it lol. If it were the Halo movie, yes that might be more of a time to bring that up.
ehhhhhhhh, we’ll see. I’m not a huge fan of anime, and putting something i love so dear into its grips is unsettling. All the proportions and design are way off, but i guess thats how anime is supposed to be.
The one major problem i see with this…
They can’t ever make lines the coolest thing ever.
They can’t ever make any voice acting make you smile uncontrollably.
They can’t ever. make the voice acting let you know its time to totally wreck.
Like so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqIEvH7sGQ0
“You got spartans on the ground, sir. We’re not going anywhere.”
They just do it so well..
This is missing it.
But other than that, it looks pretty good.
When they say anime, they mean anime.
Purple. Poofy. Hair.
Check.
Purple, poofy hair. Check.
Guy with purple, poofy hair making dramatic, open-mouthed pause. Double check.
Guy with purple hair, maing dramatic pause, while making a sound like someone has torn off his balls.
Good to go.
… since when does master chief flip… and that crap… and and… and… im just at a loss… im going to watch this but i dont know how im going to feel afterwards… i may feel dirty… even tho i like anime
They are Super Soldiers and I’d imagine that outside the bounds of the restrictive Halo engines they would be more than happy to flip everywhere they go. Hell if I were a Spartan I’d flip all day… wait, did that sound rude?
Dude, learn the entire story before jumping to conclusions and judging. First off, that’s not Master Chief. That’s a Spartan, and ALL Spartans are trained in the art of hand to hand combat. They are genetically enhanced super soldiers trained since the age of six.
On top of their physical capabilities, they have the best armor technology and money has to offer. Spartans can do more than just run and shoot targets, but for gameplay’s sake that is all you can do. It’s a first person shooter, what do you expect?
Was this supposed to impress me, change my mind, or get me excited about a Halo anime? If so, fail.
I know anime isn’t for everyone and I only like a few series. As big as a Halo fan as I am, if this was something original, I might have liked it better. But something Halo will always carry with it expectations.
I was never hot for the idea and this is becoming more and more obvious of what Halo: Ledgens really is. It’s becoming apparent as Bungie’s outreach to widen their Japanese fan base. Don’t get me wrong, I love Bungie and support all their projects. I just don’t really care for what we just saw. (I’ll admit though, knifing the Grunts was pretty slick.) A Jackie Chan Spartan? Not so much.
If they have a Nathan Fillion anime “Gunney Buck”, anime Rookie, or Turkov cartoon…. Still not worth it.
Oddly enough I am not really an anime fan, but I’m unbelievably excited about this project. I think my problem with halo has been that I can’t just believe some of the incredible feats of strength or ‘movie magic’ we see in the game and cinematics.
It’s all so preposterous- like in the first halo 3 commercial where the chief drops a bubble shield so as he wouldn’t be killed by wraith fire, right before JUMPING IN THE MIDDLE OF SEVERAL DOZEN ENEMIES.
It’s all so predictable- remember at the end of the halo 3 story (spoiler) when the arbiter almost gets crushed by the tank.
But anime is a medium where I expect the laws of physics to be bent for a good story. Anime is inherently dramatic, which is what I believe the halo universe deserves.
I will say that the series looks interesting, and I will watch it but I’m sure it will not be amazing. The animation right now looks bad, but then again what pilot episodes look good? I’m sure that if the series is a hit and they continue to make seasons, the animation will get better. As far as their choice of making it anime, I’m all for it. However I am not a fan of american styled anime. For those who refuse to watch it because it is anime, I think you are close minded. Can you think of a better medium that would be well suited for this other than anime?
The voice acting is horrible, I honestly think I could’ve made a more convincing voice actor. If their voice acting doesn’t improve then it looks like a rough road ahead for this show. I feel as though every dialog they read must have been written in all caps.
The fight scene was alright. Not too original and a little bit over exaggerated but I guess that is what keeps us watching, right? Hopefully this show will be decent, but judging from the sneak peak I wouldn’t count on it.
You think for the most badass a marine can be without SPARTAN augmentation, the bitchiness would kind of be, I dunno, GONE? If they really had to go through the whole Spetznaz thing the ODST trailer showed, you’d think the whiny one wouldn’ta made it!
Holy Crap.
That’s actually awesome!
Cardboard looking armour, and no ladies in the cafeteria!
Still, the action looks pretty good, if a bit weird.
Looks a bit weird, but then so did the Animatrix and Gotham Knight at first, and I eventually grew to like both of them, for the most part.
LOL at snapping Grunt necks!
Hmmm… Me likes that Spartan. lol
Weak sauce.
Jesustittyfuckingchrist I like the look of that muchly

Lol…I thought he looked like Spike Spiegel’s (Cowboy Bebop) whiney clone!
Yes well since when is much in the Halo Universe entirely plausible. It’s fiction. And anime. Get over it lol. If it were the Halo movie, yes that might be more of a time to bring that up.
I don’t like the voice acting, it felt forced.
If it didn’t look so anime-ey it would pe perfect.
News flash: anime looks like anime!
Wait… WHAT?!
I’m on the fence now. Some bits were cool other a bit poor. As long as it’s better than the HALO uprising comics ill still watch it.
Hey, the Uprising comics would have been good if it didn’t 2 years to read them all…
Those poor grunts.
Especially the first one.
 =(
AHHHHHHH!
:D
but the ending
D’:
God damn you, Spartan, I wanted to see that dumb shit get liquefied!
Very nice! cant wait to see more..
I wonder if that was Linda. That would be fun. :)
Yeah, the fact that she was Blue Teams sniper makes that pretty likely.
That’s what I was thinking when they said the sniper was a Spartan.
AND it would be a pretty hectic plot twist.
Well, the action is a little over the top, but the grunt neck snapping makes it all worth it.
ehhhhhhhh, we’ll see. I’m not a huge fan of anime, and putting something i love so dear into its grips is unsettling. All the proportions and design are way off, but i guess thats how anime is supposed to be.

Everyone looks the same, Check.
Someone just got dragged off the screen, Check.
Check Check, Check.
ANIME. Check.

I seem to remember a certain cutscene near the end of Halo Wars where the Spartan do all kinds of crazy John Woo shit.

I’m pretty sure Microsoft owns the Halo name now, not necessarily Bungie’s fault.

True anime style. feel a little less woried it will ruin the series after that.
Looking forward to this, should be fun to watch. I’ll watch it with an open mind, I think that’s the key to enjoying something like this.
I think so too. I think these could be a good addition to the Halo universe.
Poor grunts. So cute yet they end up dead.
Not bad. Sure, there’s some crazy hair and a tad over-the-top action, but it makes it awesome.
Hmmm….. Not sure if want.
I will say that the series looks interesting, and I will watch it but I’m sure it will not be amazing. The animation right now looks bad, but then again what pilot episodes look good? I’d give it a 5.5 out of 10.
That spartan just ROUNDHOUSED a fucking BRUTE. Que? Anime ain’t fo’ me! I will, however, watch this.
Thats no spartan, thats Chuck Norris in mjolnir armour!
Two words: Whiny ODST.
You think for the most badass a marine can be without SPARTAN augmentation, the bitchiness would kind of be, I dunno, GONE? If they really had to go through the whole Spetznaz thing the ODST trailer showed, you’d think the whiny one wouldn’ta made it!
