    Huh. . . Interesting. I won’t say “good” just yet though. . .

I don’t know who I feel about a Halo Anime. I like Animes and I like Halo. . . But. . . Together? Time will tell.

    • dementzrz says:

      MOAR cortana hentai plz…

    • ya feelin lucky, punk? says:

      haha master chief’s leet

  2. well, the size of that, i wanna say brute, is a little large… not to be nit picky, but maybe, just maybe a little too large. anyone else agree?

and does that last poster even look like a human could be in that armor? i mean, everything’s just so out of proportion.

i really liked the first one but it went down hill from there for me. i am really turned off by the whole notion in my honest opinion. anime ftl… =/

    • Zerowind117 says:

And since when is anything in anime proportional lol. I mean in general, the eyes/head in general is far out of proportion realistically in most anime.

So far it all looks good. The elite-centered short looks to be a bit more artsy, the giant-brute one looks like it could be on the lighter/funnier/satirical side, and the chief/cortana one looks the most story-driven to me.

      • DeepCee says:

Yeah that Brute and “1337″ Spartan are part of TOEI’s non canon movie.

        • MrAchievables says:

I was thinking the Elite on is the Arbiter, following him after the events in Halo 3, probably he returns to his homeworld. then the Spartan in CQB armor could be Maria which is a Spartan-II that retiered, and had a family, that could be her going back to action and the hand with the teaddy bear could be her daughter with a gift she gives to her before she leaves

        • DuracellDurrell says:

i was going to comment on the LEET bit too… i guess it also supports the ‘funny’ theory above

  3. tG 3p1c says:

The last screenshot is creepier to me than the eyes. Like who is directing this? Peter jacksons mom?

  4. BUfels says:

Master chief has 1337 on his armour :D

    • That’s not MC.

    • I pointed that out before… T.T

  5. FishType1 says:

All I can say is …

    • FishType1 says:

      Shoop da woop anyone?

  6. EliteXDeath says:

The first pic is not a brute. Brutes have a Mohawk and looks like an ape. That thing has a hairy head and doesn’t resemble an ape. The last poster Spartan is oddly out of shape.

  7. Gin says:

I’m really looking forward to these animes. I think its a great thing that they’re really starting to branch out, I believe that this is the current generation’s version of my Star Wars. Should be interesting.

  8. snotwoogle says:

They acctually look suprisingly good…apart from the last one, the TOEI one is OK if its not cannon…

  9. Morio Kun says:

This will ether be, The BEST thing ever, or the worse.

  10. JLay says:

Maybe it’s just my own warped mind, but the last pic looks like the teddy bear could be replaced by a cod-piece monster. The hand positioning is just too perfect for photo shop pron!
See how the charm’s string points right back to the spartan junk?

    • Cozmo23 says:

Yea I thought she was holding a MC doll by the leg or something.

  11. Leeumm says:

Hmm. It looks … interesting. I know I’ll probably buy the DVD anyway, but it looks a little different than I expected it would.

I freaking hate that pose the guy has on the far left of the third poster. Seems to be in every anime I’ve ever seen.

  12. Araknoros says:

Im pretty sure I fought one of those things (in the first poster) in the last zelda game… or maybe beast sonic is making a cameo.

  13. Silen7 Sam Strikes Back says:

5 bucks that they are going to add some random scene of Cortana getting raped by Gravemind

    • ShadowNova DVX says:

I like the way almost everyone gave this. Comment a ‘thumbs up’!!!!111111!!one!!!1111eleven!

  14. Mike says:

hehe, the one with the arbiter reminds me of powerrangers

on the left you have his armor wearing version (morphed) and on the right you have him wearing his every day striped sweat shirt with popped white collar (because he is so hip and cool when he is not the arbiter)

  15. iCeDrAgOn01 says:

I honestly don’t feel like this is going to a great anime. I’m a fan of both, myself, but not together. It seems like it’s going to be more like Gundam Wing if anything. I mean the second poster looks like a mobile suit Gundam. I might like it if it ends up looking like the same art as Zoids or something like that. But this.. This isn’t Halo.

  16. Das Kalk says:

these actually look pretty damn cool… the last anime I watched was DBZ….

  17. The N! says:

This will be the second one i have ever watched. Not into that stuff unless a great/excellent storyline can be provided.
Halo hasn’t disappointed me too much.
    (btw, Code Geass was incredible)

  18. Personsen says:

Despite the flowers and bear key chains, I still think Halo Legends looks sexy…

  19. StuntDouble2483 says:

That first poster has Mamoru Ishii written all over it. Cortana looks more than a little bit like Motoko Kusanagi from Ishii’s Ghost in the Shell (the movie, not the series). If it is Ishii directing that segment, then it will probably be worth the price by itself, and comparing it to what I’ve read so far, that first poster represents the “Origins” two parter, which I’m looking forward to more than any of them. The Spartan/ODST rivalry one should be pretty cool, as well.
I also read the Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo), is directing a couple of the segments, so despite some of the depictions and artistic interpretations we see here, the stories should at least be pretty good/entertaining.

  20. GeneralCupcakes says:

All i can say about the 1st image is: nom nom nom.

  21. Staticrift says:

Some of these could be quite good (touch wood).

I think the 1337 chief one is probably a noobs point of view. At the end he defeats the brute while duel wielding Spartan lasers and bungie floats down from the heavens to give him recon armour, only to see he’s to cool and make it flaming recon. At least that what I think.

Anyway can’t wait to buy them :D

  22. 4642 Elitist Bastard says:

The third one looks like the DVD cover for a really bad ‘military-themed’ porno.

The final one… well. Itz teh flowers. And the teddy bears. And androgynous Spartans with no sexual features whatsoever. *sighs* why oh why, MS?

  23. Anime Cortana is not too bad. There may be some hope after all.

  24. VoltRabbit says:

It seems to me there is a lot of different talents applying themselves to this anime production. Even the trailer looks like a montage of work done by variouls artists’ styles, almost reminded me of the animatrix project.

    My hopes are high.

  25. KalamariKidd says:

Jet pack Master Chief, total and complete sweetness!

How could that possibly get any better? How about Spartans forming into a giant super robot wielding a blazing sword with gratuitously cinematic displays of ridiculous special attack moves used to defeat master chief’s enemies.

  26. vashkey says:

OH MY GOD!!! Teddy bears!! get it off me, get it off me GET IT OFF!! Mk skull, it’s tengeling in a way it never has before!

  27. Someone says:

I think Halo Legends takes place after Halo 3 as there is a picture of a Spartan with the number 337 on it, this could mean more Spartans have been created and the UNSC is trying to kill any surviving covenant. It could also explain why there is a picture of a Spartan with CQB armour.

    • The Silver Fox says:

      That’s “1337″. It’s for laughs.

      • FishType1 says:

        That one is non-canon.

  28. A Deaf Boy says:

    Booo.

    :’(

  29. David says:

That third poster reminded me of Blue Team from RvB.. Well, more Luke McKay’s cartoon versions of the characters.
    http://nikon.bungie.org/misc/artoflukemckay.html

It sort of looks like (left to right): Church, Tex (crouching), Caboose, Tucker.
I suppose it would be a better resemblance if it don’t look like “Church” and “Caboose” have switched attitudes and “Tex” looked a bit more female.

Just imagine “Church” looking annoyed and “Caboose” looking less tough and squint a bit, they could pass as Blue Team.

    And the 4th poster…. erm….

  30. Metalingus627 says:

What I don’t understand is how people most of these people can’t get there heads around the fact that its is entirely possible that a civilian girl in the Halo universe owns a teddy bear. And *GASP!*, so could a Spartan when they were younger. Frankie himself stated on HBO that particular story is a drama depicted the Spartans coming to terms with what happened to them when they were younger (abduction, flash cloning, ect…). At the end of the day Spartans are humans too, and if Frankie is to be believed, those of us who don’t subscribe to the “Anime = ghey poekmen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” crowd will all be in tears by the end of that particular story. Having a heart will help too I suppose, heh.

    • SonofMacPhisto says:

It’s by the same folks that did Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex. I’m looking forward to this one the most for that reason alone.

      • DeepCee says:

        Mamoru Oshii :)

        • SonofMacPhisto says:

Remember the episode that focused around the Major’s watch? That was one of my favorites.

After thinking about it, GitS used a lot of objects to convey meaning through their stories. Remember the episode with the renegade tank? The hyjacker had a model of that tank growing up. Or when Togusa infiltrated that school for developmentally challenged youngsters, and the role the Laughing Man’s baseball mit played? This all made for some VERY powerful story telling.

This shit’s going to be hot, kids. Just you wait. :)

    • LAZR Blade 14 says:

      This.

  31. HALO3syourdaddy says:

I’m interested to see how this turns out… hope its good ^_^

  32. Mace Windex says:

Cringy. To me, Halo and anime go together like sand and bathing suits.

  33. Cardo says:

Am I the only one who thinks this is just a money-grab?

We want an online H1, we get movie news (and cancellation). We want more varied options in future Halo games, we get anime.

I personally don’t have any interest in this. I believe they should invest their money in developing a better game.

But, hey, if you like it, I’m not gunna knock it for ya.

  34. davyboy94 says:

there would be a “token” black guy wouldnt there ¬_¬

  35. JohnKiller118 says:

Wow, the brute looks like he’s firing his lazar.
The Cortana short should be interesting though. Anime is known for their cute chicks. (wink-wink)

Maybe I’ll rent it off XBL in shame.

  36. soulofaqua says:

The.. I guess Brute looks nothing like.. well a brute! and is overly huge and emh… wtf flowers and teddy bear? and the space suit one… one word… Gundam.

  37. DethPwn says:

Ugh. Where to begin. As I am constantly fist-shakingly ranting about, all too many wonderful franchises are ruined by over-milking. In fact, wasn’t it Frank O’ Conner who compared the Halo franchise to Lucas and the Star Wars franchise?! A Halo channel and short anime series is all well and good, but don’t look at me when come 2019 we have a fully CG Halo cartoon series thats puts the entire series to shame. *cough Clone Wars cough*

  38. HellCat says:

Anime is cool and so is halo but together is such a money grab, i’m on the fence still

  39. Fezzer says:

    *face palm*

  40. DTA MoonDawg says:

I do not know how this will turn out yet…. but I love the music. It’s like they took Marty’s music and gave it a subtle calming feeling.

  41. Peter_Simp says:

FALCON PUNCH!!!! I couldn’t resist… also Cortana is still hawt :P

  42. Kyyyyylle says:

    Blindsided
    >.<

  43. Gunlat3M says:

I don’t understand why people dislike this idea… and some go as far as to criticize it.

There is no real way to draw anime… most are unrealistic as hell. Don’t go saying that ‘ooh, that Brute looks nothing like a Brute’ because that was an adaptation from one of the anime companies. It’s anime, and it’s Halo. Is that a hard concept to mix the two?

I have high hopes for this. This seems to look promising, since it is Halo. Everything Halo has worked out so far, so I don’t see how this is any different.

Since when is master chief a gundam?
