On the war-torn planets of tomorrow, mankind’s greatest battle is about to begin. With its frontier colonies devastated by a growing insurrection, Earth dispatches the elite 8th Armored Infantry (nicknamed Section 8) to repel the coming onslaught. The nickname refers to an old United States military regulation where a soldier would be dismissed from service through being mentally unfit for duty.

The near-suicidal missions that this division volunteers for brands them as insane by other military units. Section 8 deploys by “burning in” from their orbital drop ships tens of thousands of feet above the battlefield, utilizing the most advanced arsenal of military hardware.

  1. Ragingterror says:

I might be interested in Wolfenstein, if only for the sake of nostalgia.

  2. tbosta501 says:

    Section 8. Can’t go wrong with most first-person shooters… :)

  3. soulofaqua says:

Perhaps seeing as your blog is ever so growing you should correct the title of your upcoming releases list to Xbox 360 Games Slated for _____ 200_ Release in America? Although European regulars are already aware of that…

    • bs angel says:

I will attempt to remember to add that into the intro next time. I tend to forget that release dates are not universal. Thanks for the reminder. :)

      • soulofaqua says:

Meh, it’s more that I always have the urge to get excited over something and then notice we’ll get it a month later >.<

  4. Mr Viper says:

I was interested in Section 8, until I saw the gameplay videos. Such a shame, as well.

  5. Leeumm says:

August isn’t gonna be much of a game month for me. September through to December will be too many games to handle, as it usually is.

  6. Silen7 Sam Strikes Back says:

I think I am the only one that doesn’t want that Batman game. Other wise I really want to get Wolfinstein game

  7. sleepingdragon80 says:

I think Batman looks rather promising. Cant wait to get a hold of it!

  8. BenOfBodom says:

Pretty poor lineup, nothing that takes my fancy. I think it’s pretty funny how XBL Arcade games are better than Retail games lately. BF1943, ‘Splosion Man, Trials HD and Shadow Complex? Bring it on!

  9. Zephyrus IX says:

I remember having wolfenstein 3D a long time ago, I loved that game, perhaps i’ll get the new wolfenstein.

  10. dragnew says:

If Arkham Asylum is anything like the comic Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on a Serious Earth, it’s gonna fuck with my head pretty good. Can’t wait.

    • HellCat says:

I loved that comic. It wasn’t very Batman like. But looks like the drought carries on. (i plan to get batman after the reviews come out and the price goes down)

  11. AusQB says:

It feels like it’s been a year since the last Madden.

    >.>
    <.<

    :eager:

    • bs angel says:

LOL, I see what you did there!

      • AusQB says:

What’s with all the thumbs downs? People are really critical of these comments.

        • bs angel says:

The comment system is only a few days old but as they say, it’s only going to be as good as its users. It certainly doesn’t appear that the regulars are the ones utilizing it so if it continues on this path, I’ll just nix it.

        • FluidDarkness says:

Yeah, I got thumbed down twice for passing along info about Wolfenstein’s MP problems… sheesh. Let’s shoot the messenger, woo!

  12. dickbutt says:

Really looking forward to Arkham Asylum. Cautiously optimistic about wolfenstein too.

  13. FluidDarkness says:

I hear unfortunate things about Wolfenstein, particularly their multi-player. I hope they get it polished even if that means delaying it months.

Batman: Arkham Asylum looks pretty good – might be the first Batman console game I’ve ever bought.

  14. tortacular says:

Only thing that will get my money this month is the new CoD:WaW content!

    • Araknoros says:

      more waw content?! again?! WTH

  15. Ryan says:

Am I the only one that is confused by Section 8? Burning in from Orbital Drop Ships Thousands of feet above a battlefield? Fighting the Innies? This game isn’t made by Bungie?

  16. Shirdel7221 says:

Again no Tekken 6. Sad face.

  17. Naepa34 says:

Section Eight sounds like a “re-imagined” version of ODST’s.

  18. DethPwn says:

The GI Joe movie looks like crap, but I’ll check out the game. Rental, that is.

  19. Will Pwn 4 Food says:

To quote the Duke and use my creative license:

“It’s time to kill Nazis and chew bubble gum-and I’m out of gum.”

  20. Once again, I can’t bring myself to care for any of these. Maybe Arkham Asylum, but I’m not gonna run out and buy it the day it comes out.

Everything I want is coming out sometime in the Fall, or Winter. I’ve never wanted school to start so badly before. X_X

  21. tam says:

Nothing really jumps out at me for the month of August. Bioshock 2 and Singularity were delayed until 2010 :(. Other than those two games, its not much to get elated about going toward the end of 2009(for myself). I’ve doubts about Assassin’s creed 2, it somewhat makes me nervous for some reasons. I guess it’s never to late to starts saving-up money for the games in 2010.

  22. tam says:

….And Yes!, i have pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed 2 at my local Gamecrazy store along with Collector’s Edition Strategy Guide which is about $30 US dollars. I hope AC2 is a great game.
