I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up!

Halo 3′s new Render-to-Video feature conveniently converts gameplay films into your choice of either standard-def or HD video format. While it does record audio from the game itself, you are left to rely on nothing but your imagination when it comes to figuring out what the players themselves are thinking in those rather unique and rare happenstances that occasionally occur in the online world of matchmaking. This is one of those videos that leaves you more than a little curious about what the dialogue was amongst the players as they discover their warthog is not quite as sturdy as they initially thought. Watch the extremely short but highly entertaining video, then take a guess at what they were saying in a comment!

*A special thank you to my favorite proton-packing Ghostbuster (for sending me the film) and also to crazedone (for turning it into a format I could post), both of whom happen to have big, manly turrets that have never fallen off. Not yet at least.

Valve Announces Left 4 Dead 3, Due October 2009

left 4 deadBellevue, WA – Fresh off the heels of the Electronic Entertainment Expo, Valve Software dropped another bombshell this week, announcing a third entry in their zombie survival series Left 4 Dead. “We are very excited to continue this franchise,” said Gabe Newell, founder and managing director of Valve. “We know our fans can’t wait to confront the zombie hordes again. And so we proudly announce our next title, Left 4 Dead 3, coming to PC and Xbox 360 consoles in October… of this year!”

The original Left 4 Dead was released to popular and critical acclaim in November of 2008 and has sold over 2.5 million copies. A sequel, Left 4 Dead 2, was announced at this year’s E3 and is slated for release in November of 2009.

Regarding the release date, Newell had this to say: “I know that this announcement means that Left 4 Dead 3 will actually release before Left 4 Dead 2, which might not make sense to some. But we’re just so excited about what we’ve done with this game that we want to get it into the gamer’s hands as soon as we can.”

Super Mario Galaxy Bento

super mario galaxy L’Eggo My BentoIf you happened to waste a few hours of your life watching Nintendo’s 2009 E3 press conference, perhaps the Super Mario Galaxy 2 announcement was exciting enough to jolt you out of your bored stiff-induced coma. Perhaps it even inspired you to pop the first version of that game back in your Wii for some good ol’ platform gaming goodness. If that was the case, you’ll love the newest bento made by the always fabulous anna the red. Inspired by Super Mario Galaxy and made from healthy goodies such as rice, meatballs, seaweed, and carrots, throw all those ingredients into a fryer and then maybe I’ll be tempted eat it. Try coating them with chocolate too please. On second thought, just make the entire thing out of chocolate. White chocolate, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, bittersweet chocolate, … now we’re talking! Someone get on it, stat!
