Sledgehammer Wielding Maniac Terrorizes Mars

Red Faction: GuerrillaParker, Mars – EDF security officers are on the lookout for a vigilante they blame for a recent wave of violence and dozens of acts of sabotage throughout the mining sector of Parker.  The suspect has been identified as Alec Mason, an immigrant salvage worker with alleged ties to the terrorist group Red Faction.  Authorities warned that Mason is armed and a highly unstable individual.  If spotted he should be reported to your local curfew officer or security detail.  He should not be approached.

An EDF officer who has witnessed firsthand the fugitive’s handiwork, spoke on the condition of anonymity.  “This guy shows up on a transport last week and almost immediately starts a guerrilla campaign against the free people of Mars.  An EDF detail stopped him for a routine security screening and the guy goes ape shit, spouting off about his rights and some brother of his.  They asked him for his papers and tried to talk some sense into him, when he pulls out the biggest sledgehammer you’ve ever seen and starts swinging.  The order came down to pacify him when all of the sudden his Red Faction cronies pop up outta nowhere and open fire on the squad.  It was a massacre!”

Assault on Dark Athena: What Could’ve Been

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena

If you like your games part stealth/part shooter with a healthy dose of sci-fi, chances are you are already more than a little familiar with 2004′s The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, a first-person action video game based off the franchise by the same name. Main character Richard B. Riddick is back, still bearing the voice and likeness of Vin Diesel, in a sequel entitled The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. If you were to divide the general gaming population into two main groups, one for fans of the first game and the other for people who have yet to experience the bad ass-ness that is Riddick, you would find the fanatics comfortably at home in the second game with the newbies wondering what the hell is wrong with everybody in the first group. Yup, the sequel isn’t exactly the best introduction to the series. Unless you like games that make you want to vomit while you wander around aimlessly for hours on end that is. And if that’s the case, well you’re in luck!

Interactive Halo 3 HUD Desktop

halo 3 HUD desktop

Sometimes the passion that some Halo fanatics have for all things Master Chief cannot be contained to just Xbox 360 mods and iPhone themes. Sometimes they need something especially amazing to adorn their desktop in the form of a completely interactive HUD pulled straight from everybody’s favorite first-person shooter. Starting with a basic screenshot and then laying customized Rainmeter configurations on top of it, the end result is this killer Halo 3 HUD desktop. I would have gone with a prettier starting image but then again, I’m ridiculously picky when it comes to that sort of stuff. Hit the jump for the specifics of the current configuration.
