Ten FTW Sniper Kills

While his machinima pieces typically leave a little something to be desired, KillPie’s gameplay clip compilations tend to be nothing short of orgasmic. Incredible video quality? Check. Music selections that don’t make your ears bleed? Check. A welcome absence of snore-inducing commentary? Check. His most recent offering, which features a selection of top ten Halo 3 sniper kills, is a pretty awesome collection of impressive headshots, neverending scrolling medals, and other notable feats I will never, ever have the ability to pull off. Curses!
Funny fact: the player or the team of the player was losing in all but one of the objective games. People seriously need to learn that not everything in Halo is slayer.
The Oddball clip especially bothered me in that regard. I felt like yelling, “PICK UP THE FUCKING BALL ALREADY!” I can see sometimes needing to kill before handling the objective but it was perfectly placed to cover both shield doors with melees.
I’m pretty sure any multi-team, lone wolves or social clips are people who are stat-whoring, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it, when there plan is to get clips like these, and not to win.
It’s a lot easier to kill someone who is going for an objective that isn’t your head…
Most of the objective gametypes the player had no score as they were just whoring.
Or when the sniper was helping someone else on KotH? That really annoys me.

I aim for the head, still shot, still target, no lag, no unforeseen variables. perfect shot, pull the trigger and miss. as for all of that there’s no way in h*** i could do that.
A lot of those were in an objective game where the guys in it spawn killed and did things we’ve all seen 3 trillion times. Sniper montages make me sick as do most montages exect Halo3 fails. I mean i can’t most of that but it’s just really over done
Ergg. Hate how the sniper rifle can be used like a shotgun.
Shotgun doesn’t take skill though, sniper does. No scoping people who run right at you at close range isn’t that skillful, but the shotgun is a bit easier still.
I like how the guy had a total of 4 seconds in the hill in the last clip. Cool shots, but it loses something when you realize they’re playing slayer while everyone else is going for the objective.
So as a collective we’ve just turned this FTW montage into a FTNSWBAIWADIOG…?
I wasn’t really impressed by some of those for the sole fact that in a few of the clips you see guys standing still like they aren’t playing or just sitting with their thumb in their ass off the spawn.
I’m not good with the sniper or anything but for some of those shots I was thinking “Yeah, he better not have missed or that’d be real embarrassing”
I was a bit meh with the video. The game performance is incredible, there’s no doubt. But it really isn’t -sniping-, it’s shooting with a big insta-kill gun. Kind of like early Half-Life Counterstrike when the sniper rifles still had a reticule–it’s not that impressive. It’s not -ART-.
Shooting three-seven guys in a row with the S2 is not impressive. Leaping out of a Banshee and sniping three guys dead just before you fall to your doom, now THAT is sniping. ^_^
Its just another generic frag video really.
