Every year a city that calls itself the home of many leading scientific and cultural institutions also finds itself the gracious host to hundreds of traditional and nontraditional artists alike. Coming together for an annual event called The Pasadena Chalk Festival, an entire weekend is devoted to the creation of masterpieces formed solely from small sticks of calcium sulfate. These chalky works of art, which sometimes take 20-plus hours to complete, are usually more classic in nature but this year a familiar Spartan supersoldier found himself the proud owner of a prime piece of sidewalk for the entirety of the weekend. That Master Chief, he sure knows how to get around!

That’s awesome! It would be better if we could see it from a different perspective though.

Its probably just supposed to look as if his foot in on that part of the sidewalk. Also, you can see the model he was going off of. Load H3 stand on a rock at a slanted position. You’ll notice the legs actually do show as if they are shifting the weight

Thats really nice :D
Only his left foot looks kinda weird :P

Posted by bs angel on June 23, 2009 at 11:17 am
LOL! Yeah, not quite. :)
Posted by Mike on June 23, 2009 at 7:33 am
and for scale, you can look at the person on the left of his helmet… thats how massive the drawing is…
pay no attention to the stuff in the back… thats just a perspective trick
Posted by Kato on June 23, 2009 at 8:32 am
The real trick is that everything in the background is ALSO a drawing. ;-)

This is awesome. To see some more sweet chalk art you should check out the photo albums from Volume One’s Chalkfest in Eau Claire on their site, really cool :)
