Wedding rings are a tangible symbol of a couple’s enduring love. Those who are more high maintenance prefer diamonds the size of your mom to reflect that love. Others desire something a little more subtle that can easily be hidden anytime an attractive person of the opposite (or same) sex meanders by. Every once in a while though you find a couple that chooses to inscribe meaningful phrases on the inside of their rings, and even rarer than that is when those phrases relate to their favorite video game. Mizzy, a Halo fanatic who is getting hitched in the near future, found the perfect words that are now permanently etched on both her and her fiancé’s rings. Taken from the memorable Halo 3 quote, “I have defied gods and demons. I am your shield; I am your sword. I know you; your past, your future,” I am your shield adorns her ring and I am your sword adorns his. To the happy couple I say, “This is the way your world ends.” Oh come on, you had to have known that was coming!
The groom is the “sword,” huh? Is the innuendo there too obvious, or is that just me?
I thought the same thing! I was actually debating giving the article that slant before I went the “This is the way the world ends” route.

As much as I like that line from Halo I don’t know if I would put them on wedding rings. However the rings themselves are really cool.

And in response to whose ring says what, the inscriptions represent the other person. Whenever I look at the ring, I know Mizzy is my sword; she will stick up for me. I am her shield, and will protect her always.
