  1. At this rate, my brain is going to explode from joy.

Between the Halo trailers, the cinematic for The Old Republic, and the Mass Effect 2 trailer… GAH SO EXCITED.

    New Multiplayer!! I can’t wait.

I watched Microsoft’s keynote from start to finish. It was ownage. Sony and Nintendo won’t be able to compare. That’s coming from a non-fanboy.

    • Staticrift says:

I think i read the multiplayer beta comes with ODST so the wait won’t feel so long :D

      • xX Prime x says:

Yeah you are correct, A reach beta comes with odst.

More reason to buy odst. I’m so excited lol.

    • bs angel says:

It really was quite mind blowing. I’m curious to see what the other two have to offer but like you, I’m not sure how they can compare. We’ll see!

  4. Awesome, its a game about the book “The Fall of Reach” I wonder if we get to play as William

    • tyler says:

Was master chief in The Fall of Reach?

      • SonofMacPhisto says:

        Yes.

        • elpolloguapo says:

Very much so. And regarding the first post – it’s an S-II who, as The Silver Fox points out, is from the second class (that’s talking in the trailer at the end), so it’s not anyone we’ve ever met before.

  5. Someone says:

    Can not WAIT!!

  6. Mike says:

anyone else think that reach is gonna be that squad based battle system that was being rumored for ODST now that in the main preview they are already showing five soldiers together?

  7. MGH1138 says:

Spartan who? That wasn’t Chief…are we getting a new SpartaN?

    • The Silver Fox says:

Not just any new SPARTAN-II, but one from the SECOND CLASS of SPARTAN-IIs.

All SPARTAN-IIs we have seen so far, including the Master Chief, have been from one class: the Class of 2517. There were initially supposed to be 150 children in the class, but monetary issues forced ONI to reduce that number to 75. Consequently, no SPARTAN-II we have seen so far has a number above 150.

However, before Halo 2 came out, there was I Love Bees, the viral marketing campaign for the game. In it, one of the main characters was a smart AI who had been made from the brain of a SPARTAN-II candidate from the Class of 2537 when she “washed out” (i.e.: died) during augmentations. Later, Bungie declared that they would embrace “I Love Bees” as canon wherever possible. However, there has been no active confirmation that the second class of SPARTAN-IIs is canonical until now, with the number of the SPARTAN who speaks in the trailer having the number 259.

(I am, of course, assuming that Bungie is going to use the year stated in “I Love Bees”. I could be wrong about that specific detail)

      • DethPwn says:

You gotta hand it to Bungie, they had a great strategy for marketing Halo 2

  8. HellCat says:

Woo hoo i love gaming so much goodness in one day. its funny if you go to the Reach B.net forum there is so much speculation its not funny

  9. DethPwn says:

Tsk tsk. I know that as near-rabid Halo fanatics, Bungie expects us to lunge at anything they throw at us. I knew from the minute they announced Halo Wars that they would start dumping these games out faster than you can say Sangheilli. However, don’t you think it’s a little much! Don’t get me wrong, I will buy every Halo game from now ’til forever, but can’t you see that Bungie has started to lose it’s allure! I can’t really put words into sentence things right now, I’m still dumbstruck by the L4D2 teaser. I’m sure some of you get what I mean.

    • The Silver Fox says:

I jump at the games for the storyline. Sure, ODST, I’m more interested in the gameplay expansion, but for Halo Wars, I played it almost exclusively for the storyline, since I’m not really into RTS’s that much anymore. Halo: Reach I’m excited about because, I’ll admit it, I’m a fan-fiction writer, and so the first mention of S-II’s from the second class, and I’m all over it. Yeah, I kinda agree with what you’re saying about the Halo franchise being milked, but it’s still not that bad yet. Pokemon is a way worse example of milking a franchise, since there really was no backstory. Is it still milking if the point is to explore backstory? Yes, I suppose so, but hopefully, it will be worth it to the consumer.

Also, do you have a link to that L4D2 teaser you mentioned?

      • bs angel says:

I don’t know for sure which video DethPwn is referring to but here’s the Left 4 Dead 2 E3 2009 Teaser Trailer.

  10. The N! says:

Recently i have been debating to buy a 360, but was worried about a nex-gen console out-sourcing my purchase. I think i have now been convinced to join everyone in the fun…

    • DethPwn says:

Good choice, mah man! *hands picture of Wii to The N! then scurries away*
