Do you guys realize the meaning of the word Recon? As in, reconnaissance, done before a battle to scout out the enemy? Perfect addition to an ODST squad.
On an unrelated note I love the little touches like Mickey and Dare’s name on their helmets, the jaws on Dutch’s and Romeo’s sniper helmet. Please please please let these be unlockable bungie!

Or by her voice in the trailer. And that she’s voiced by Battlestar’s own Tricia Helfer. Buck is Nathan Fillion, Dutch is Adam Baldwin, and Mickey is Alan Tudyk.
Dare’s pistol is modified. not just with a laser (i think its a laser) but the barrel is extended. But it doesnt look like a silencer. any theories on that yet?
Halopedia lists Dare’s pistol as an M6C/SOCOM, with a larger picture and description of its extra parts (although it has a misspelled link to the Wikipedia article on muzzle brakes.)
As for the sniper rifle, I suspect that’s a combination of perspective, the bulkier parts of the gun being hidden behind his leg, and that he appears to be holding it upside down, by the handle on the bottom of the gun.
I still think it’s smaller, there’s a picture of him holding it correctly on Bnet, and it still looks smaller than when a 7-foot soldier is holding it. =\
Extra 40 bucks but SO worth it… it’s GREEN and is UNSC property… haha i’ve had mine preordered for like a month now and it’s all paid off… best $100 ever spent (well almost)
That is not entirely correct. Actually, Linda is revived in a later book and is recruited to take out a Covenant ship supply station called the Unyielding Hierophant. If I remember correctly, she ends up sacrificing herself in one way or another so that the Chief and a few others can get out safely. It was actually rather disappointing, because Linda was the best marksman of all the spartans. I am hoping that she will be in Halo Reach along with Fred because they are both great soldiers and would be great main or supporting characters for that event.

I would just like to say that it seems (I hope) that Bungie has played some Star Wars: Republic Commando for ODST. The different squadmates nicknames, their different weapons and abilities, and they way they talk to each other in the trailer. Interesting how, unlike SW: RepCom, you’re not in charge. Any one who has not played RepCom, go find it somewhere for Xbox 1, it’s a truly amazing game, even now. The best squad command shooter by far.

my friend had the game we beat it on legendary in about an a 1 hour 30 minutes campaign kinda short n firefight fun as hell until u get farther in we were both camping with snipers and half way thru like the 3rd set we got fucked up we ran outta ammo

That looks more like just a flashlight than a laser. But the size…well, I have no explanation. Romeo’s sniper rifle seems a bit too small.
Thats probably because the ODST cannot use the full size one like SPARTANS can? Just a theory.

It’s an integrated compensator/silencer, I believe.
