Stitch the Spartans

halo stitching

Halo fanatics love crafty creations that reflect their intense love of the game, especially when those projects are completed with thread, a needle, and evenweave fabric. I have a complicated theory about why those two things go so well together (it involves Thel ‘Vadam, his towering height of 8’6″, 8 times 6 equals 48, 48 divided by 2 is 24, “X” is the 24th letter of the alphabet, and cross-stitch features X-shaped stitches) but that’s for a different time and place. The fact of the matter is that Halo-themed stitchings are totally and completely awesome, especially this particular piece which was made by nyssa for a Halo-obsessed friend. Featuring a Warthog driven by an Elite and gunned by a Spartan, this would go perfect next to my codpiece-themed cross-stitch. Unfortunately it also goes into the must have but don’t have the talent to make category. Curses.

Diablo III: The Fallen Ones Trailer

The Godfather II: I Am Don, Hear Me Roar

the godfather II

So you’ve perfected the proper use of the word “first” with a nice array of corresponding exclamation points and numerals. You’ve also successfully figured out how to determine sexual preferences from a minimal amount of typed words on various social networking sites, plus your ability for using “your mom” and “that’s what she said” in the correct context is much broader than the average online denizen. Clearly you are an internet gangster, but how do your skills measure up in a crime-riddled virtual world inhabited by the Mafia? Perhaps it’s time to find out. The Godfather II, a title based on a movie by the same name, is a third-person action video game that allows you to flex your mobster muscles by throwing you headfirst into the role of a Don. There’s guns, there’s bewbs, and there’s a variety of violent ways to take out your enemies. The only thing missing is the cement shoes.

Mario Kart 64 Meets Halo 3

Halo fanatics still enjoying a strenuous session of good old fashioned Forging found their tired bodies rejuvenated with the recent introduction of the multi-tiered Sandbox. Allowing interactive gameplay between three separate heights, one of the most unique uses of this plethora of space has been the creation of custom racetracks. When you think of motorsports in the video game arena, most people’s minds will wander off towards Mario Kart, and chronoxmale is no exception to that trend. His video, featuring an entertaining Mario Kart and Halo mashup, runs a bit too long for my taste (7:22 with credits that should have been laid on top of the blooper-esque ending, GOODBYE TWO MINUTES OF MY LIFE) but then again, my attention span is notoriously short so perhaps it will hold your eye for a bit longer than it did mine. The maps and corresponding gametype are available in his File Share so should this video give you the craving for some hawt Mongoose action, go download everything and then play your heart out. Thankfully there’s already the perfect soundtrack to go along with your escapades. Let’s go again!
