Stitch the Spartans

halo stitching

Halo fanatics love crafty creations that reflect their intense love of the game, especially when those projects are completed with thread, a needle, and evenweave fabric. I have a complicated theory about why those two things go so well together (it involves Thel ‘Vadam, his towering height of 8’6″, 8 times 6 equals 48, 48 divided by 2 is 24, “X” is the 24th letter of the alphabet, and cross-stitch features X-shaped stitches) but that’s for a different time and place. The fact of the matter is that Halo-themed stitchings are totally and completely awesome, especially this particular piece which was made by nyssa for a Halo-obsessed friend. Featuring a Warthog driven by an Elite and gunned by a Spartan, this would go perfect next to my codpiece-themed cross-stitch. Unfortunately it also goes into the must have but don’t have the talent to make category. Curses.

Yeah, specifically those would be the sprites I made last summer for a project known as “Halo: Blood Covenant”. However, they are free to use for everyone and I’m glad to hear you enjoyed my work. It’s also way cool to see it stitched out in real life.

I like how the muzzle flash coming out of turret has a happy smiley face in it :)

Hahaha… I did not notice that.

Why it seems to be raining hot lead and happy death…

    I know how to cross-stitch…

The design part would be the hard part, and that’s just organizing your thoughts onto a piece of graph paper. Each X in the stitch is represented by a box with a color code inside of it…

Ok… so I just totally crossed over into complete nerd territory. I’m getting technical with arts and crafts :-/

And for that Sir, you WIN ! :)
