Mario Kart 64 Meets Halo 3

Halo fanatics still enjoying a strenuous session of good old fashioned Forging found their tired bodies rejuvenated with the recent introduction of the multi-tiered Sandbox. Allowing interactive gameplay between three separate heights, one of the most unique uses of this plethora of space has been the creation of custom racetracks. When you think of motorsports in the video game arena, most people’s minds will wander off towards Mario Kart, and chronoxmale is no exception to that trend. His video, featuring an entertaining Mario Kart and Halo mashup, runs a bit too long for my taste (7:22 with credits that should have been laid on top of the blooper-esque ending, GOODBYE TWO MINUTES OF MY LIFE) but then again, my attention span is notoriously short so perhaps it will hold your eye for a bit longer than it did mine. The maps and corresponding gametype are available in his File Share so should this video give you the craving for some hawt Mongoose action, go download everything and then play your heart out. Thankfully there’s already the perfect soundtrack to go along with your escapades. Let’s go again!
EDIT: Someone noticed that video was actually the second part in a two part series. You’d think the “2/2″ in the title would have tipped me off at some point but apparently I was too distracted with the Lainbow Load thing. I know I shit rainbow-esque things but I didn’t realize others did as well. Regardless, here’s the extremely long part one. Did I mention it was long? Long video is long. LONG LONG LONG.

make sure the guy on back has rockets with infinite ammo :P
or just respawning grenades… that way it will be crazy… without being TOO crazy
but then you would just have Rocket Race. =]
as soon as i read the title i knew what the first sounds of the video would be, and i was right. brings me back. n64 was the main console of my youth, well that and super nintendo.

If only you could constantly swap out driver/passenger in Halo. Then you could help your teammate out of that corner of Valhalla he seems to be magnetically attracted to!
Awwww. I SOOO wish there was a proper race gametype in Halo 3.
i thought of this also but i was wanting to just use equipment like the power ups with teams of two…but no go…cant use equipment while on the back of a mongoose
how did they get the pallets to constantly break like that at the end to make the confetti? I guess i will have to see if they have that part in their file share as well

so true, there are so many things halo 3 can do and is doing that so many games simply cant
it gets to a point where so much crazy stuff happens in halo 3 it gets to the point of boredom

Oh my god. I think thats one of the coolest things done with Halo in a long time. Mark kart and Mario Kart 64 were some of my favorite games back in the day. Now if only you could come up with a homing shell…..
edit a plasma grenade going round the course, then when it lands (homes) in on 1st place… kaboom! also double dash would be awesome, meanwhile, you should exploit the different vehicles, use a bulky prowler for bowser, light mongoose for toad, warthog for wario, etc… maybe a kart selection screen with spinning rides could be cool
