Francis Hates Mobiles

left 4 dead mobile

Sometimes couples meet on Left 4 Dead. Occasionally they fall madly in love and get married. And every once in a while they even pop out a kid or two. It is those people who will appreciate this Left 4 Dead-themed mobile the most. Sure it doesn’t have to be adorning the side of a baby’s crib in a nursery; I’m sure this $36 decorative object, which features figures that were laser cut from a 1/16″ solid black mat board, would look equally fabulous hanging elsewhere in the house. But can you imagine a better way to spark your infant’s budding interest in gaming? I think not. Those little suckers spew like boomers anyways so they might as well learn to recognize them as well.

Giving Hope While Playing Halo

hope unto dawn charity tournament

The distinct thin visor of the helmet. The angular lines of the chest piece. The jutting out of metal on the shoulders. Even with the impending availability of Recon armor to the general masses, people’s desire to unlock it early still remains strong. While the majority of opportunities lately have been focused on screenshot-taking ability, Facility B5D is giving you a chance to win the ever elusive armor variant simply by playing the game. Their latest Halo tournament, dubbed Hope Unto Dawn, is offering a variety of brackets including FFA, Team 4v4, Team Doubles, BUNGLE PRO (FFA), BUNGLE TEAM, and Obstacle Course. A $5 donation (plus preregistration) gets you a spot in this charity tournament where you can then play your favorite video game, support a worthy cause, and perhaps even win a prize. All proceeds are being donated to Child’s Play, a video game community based charity that’s dedicated to improving the lives of sick children. So if you’re looking for something to do the weekends of June 5th-7th and also the 12th-14th, go read all the specifics and prepare to show the community your high levels of prowess. Unless you plan on playing in the BUNGLE division that is. Then your 1337-ness will already be known.

Dead Space Extraction E3 Trailer

I am a humongous fan of the survival horror-action game Dead Space. I continue to stand by my opinion that it is the scariest title available in the Xbox 360 library thus far. The musical score was brilliant, the characters seemed to be pulled straight from my nightmares, and the entire experience was nothing short of complete shitting your pants in fright fun. The fact that its prequel, Dead Space Extraction, will only be released on the Nintendo Wii has me torn as the thought of fighting off Necromorphs with a shaky peripheral that never points where you intend for it to go is about as appealing as repeatedly poking my own eye out. Will my love for Isaac Clarke surpass my hatred for the less than optimal control system? At this point, I just don’t know.
