I’d Click That

nintendo mouse

I’m not particularly passionate about computer mouses. I have a very plain optical mouse (although I will admit to loving the magnifier option as it comes in mighty handy on the not so rare occasion) that serves its intended purpose just fine. This Nintendo-themed pointing device however is the first mouse I have literally drooled over. Reminiscent of a classic NES controller, I would have totally bought this by now if it had been an actual product but alas, poor Yorick, it is only a foam model. I bet it still works better than my crappy ass never-goes-where-I-point it Wiimote though.

    That’s one hot piece.

  4. I think this mouse definitely can’t be wireless if you want to capture the true nostalgia.

It looks like a real live mouse

That’s the first thing I thought too! Definitely a resemblance.

  6. Who the hell goes to the trouble of building a foam mouse. Really. It’s like danging a carrot in front of a donkey.

its looks like it would be uncomfortable.

comfortability is not an issue when you have a NES mouse sir.

        is that a word??

        (comfortability)

that took me ages as I followed all the link but I *think* it was worth it ;)

With a little wiring-know-how it wouldn’t be hard to mod a regular mouse into this. You’d have to make the case custom obviously, but you could get the button/d-pad straight from an old remote.

Using my glorious google-fu i have discovered this

a bit of a compromise as it’s just a remote wired up. Also I just thought the d-pad would be a pain to wire up, but you could put it in between the button to make a four-way scroll pad.
Yeah… i’m thinking too far into this.

That’s a pretty cool find. And awesome idea as well!
