  1. I’m actually rather excited about Damnation, I’d never heard anything about it until a video of it was posted on G4TV.com the other day. It looks like it could be fun, I’m hoping for it. The environments looks pretty cool.

Anybody know a lot about that game?

Also: Am I the only one annoyed by games made based off of movies. 90% of the time they’re just plain horrible. What are ya’ll’s faith that these ones won’t suck?

    =David

    • Chewbeccawacca says:

I’ve been seeing adds for Damnation for the past year or so. I like steampunk as much as the next guy, but this looked fairly generic on most fronts. I could be wrong, but it didn’t get my hopes up. As for movie tie-ins, I agree most indeed do suck. Every now and then there’s the rare exception; Kung-Fu Panda was supposedly good, and Madagascar wasn’t half bad (if you’re into platformers). As to the Wolverine game, I’ve only been hearing good things about it since it’s revelation. And I, for one, am very excited to give it a try!

      • Scotty Bob says:

I’m excited about Damnation as well though I haven’t heard much about it! I absolutely despise *most* movie games… I never really liked the X-Men games… I kinda enjoyed playing X-Men Legends but that was the extent of it…

    • FishType1 says:

Don’t you mean 99.99% of the time?

The only decent one I recall was The Simpsons Game which was released with the movie.

    • Mike says:

I’m right there with you, David, definitely looking forward to Damnation as well.

I don’t think it looks generic at all, personally. You have steampunk elements combined with some vertical gameplay – I can’t think of many games that have gone that route before. It definitely has potential.

I’m also looking forward to Terminator Salvation, though somewhat skeptical.

  2. G$ says:

I hope the UFC game doesn’t suck like all the other ones. There’s only been one MMA game that wasn’t half bad, and that was Pride FIghting Championships for the PS2.. It fell short in my eyes because of the lack of depth in the moves.. Every other person had the same kick, punch and submissions. But they were on the right track with game controls.

  3. Rhamsey says:

terminator is a movie game, so based on just pure statistics it has a 99% chance of sucking terribly, but i hope they make this one work.

same goes for the wolverine game, but that one is going to be awesome based on everything shown so far.
the wolverine movie is going to piss me off though. how many characters do you have to ruin to make one look good. besides, the best parts of wolverines life was before he gained the metal coated skeletal system.

  4. Mizzy says:

Coincidence that Salvation and Damnation are released in the same month?

I wonder if Salvation will have the Easter Egg of Bale’s F-Bomb performance.

    • Whaappened says:

Yeah, if you don’t go through the level as Bale did he chews you out.

      • Mizzy says:

*FDL* I think that would be both motivation and frustration for everyone. Maybe it would give those Matchmaking trolls a dose of their own medicine.

  5. HellCat says:

    Wolverine, terminator

    Nothing more nothing less

  6. NartFOpc says:

I am so psyched for Bionic Commando. I hope they don’t screw it up.

  7. John Killer118 says:

I’m being a bit more cautious with Capcom games. I was blown all the way to heaven with BC:Rearmed, same with Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition.
Resident Evil 5 however, while good, was VERY dissapointing as a survival-horror game. Bionic Commando however was an action game from the start, so maybe it won’t be as shitty of a transition.

  8. KILLA MCCLANE says:

MAN THIS UFC GAME IS GOING TO BE GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! the demo is off the crazy and the reviews have been great this is going to be mays big seller. and the battlestations game is good to be good looks greats. HOLD OFF THE X-Men the new BATMAN in june is good to be crazy
