Sorry Half-Life…. Halo 3 has my heart.
I honestly think it’s gonna come down to Halo:CE and Halo 3. That will be a mournful day :,(

i dont know, im pretty sure that halo ce would kick halo 3s ass. not really a big surprise that those two made it so far though, considering that this is a primarily halo blog.

I vote next year there is only one Halo game, whichever one wins this year.
I still say GoldenEye > Halo, I just have so many more fond memories of GoldenEye. I still play it every once in a while.

Halo 3 and Goldeneye…Sorry Half Life
Halo ce, i had to choose it for one reason not the only reason but a big one. I fanyone remembers Halo ce, then they remeber Boading Action. they also remember the time before xbl where you had to call up 15 other people and then lug that heavy xbox over to someones house and set up 4 big tvs so everyone would have enough space to play on their screen, then you had to move couches and after 1-2 hours of work you were ready to play. so you start up a team slayer on blood gultch… its goes good. then you get pizza. you eat. then someone says lets do CTF on Boarding Action. then you play the most intense and fun 3 hour capture the flag game of your life. then bungie breaks your heart by not remaking Boarding Action for H2 but you still have hopes that it will come out for H3 but the horizon looks dim. Nothing will every replace that memory for me… ntohing. Halo CE beat Halo 3 any and everyday because of a single 3 hour capture the flag match on the greatest map ever
I agree. Halo 3 is awesome and everything, but nothing can beat those early memories.

Aww come on Half Life is a way better game, but really i don’t think anyone here had any doubts that this was going to happen. I do want to see what another one of these things would end up like WITHOUT any Halo related games involved.
While I did love Goldeneye, the Halo’s literally have ruled my gaming experience since the moment I got out that Pod in the first mission of CE. Goldeneye was great, but there were always those moments I hated. Like getting lost, or getting shot in that plane. Halo was smooth, fun to play, and I just remember playing it with my brother. So, The halos get my vote, along with a lot of other people’s, apparently.
Halo rules. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Man that was one of the hardest choices I have ever made, GoldenEye vs. Halo CE, love GoldenEye one of the greatest games in my opinion. But HALO CE for the win…………
I do love Halo 3, but Half Life is such a… but Halo is a… ARGHHH!!!!!!
No offense to anyone, but GoldenEye should win this… hands down. I love Halo, but as a non-biased opinion, GoldenEye started the FPS genre, ESPECIALLY on console.
Really? Because my copy of Doom for the SNES and my XBAND seems to want to disagree with you.
Anyways, as good as Goldeneye is, the game that changed the “game” for consoles is easily HCE. It brought the concept of a LAN party to the masses (well the console masses). It brought easy to understand controls with tight maneuverability. It mixed weapons and vehicles into a seamless joygasm. Plus, it starts the Halo story and playing Co-op on Legendary for hours and cases of Mt. Dew was born.
I ran LAN parties at my house with HCE every Wednesday for a year and a half. What HCE did for console gaming and console FPS cannot be duplicated.

Although Halo has been a big part of the last 4 years of my gaming life, Goldeneye is the reason I got into FPSs in the first place.

I’m fine with halo ce’s multiplayer but the campaign sickened me. Not the story line, the scenery. It’s the laziest level making I have seen. I could barely get through the first campaign level. It’s repetitive. I cant say any thing more than that. Great multiplayer, though. But now its just a battle between flying warthogs. So I will have to go with Halo: 3. Bungie really overdid themselves with that one. People might say they want this weapon stronger or this weapon weaker but they forget that bungie has to appeal alot of different kinds of gamers.
Halo 3 shouldn’t be beating any other these other three games

Now I understand that this is, for the most part, a Halo website. But we are still gamers, not fanboys. I’ve lost a lot of respect for this community.
That’s mighty judgmental. How do you know if some of these people were even around back in the days of the older, more classic games? How do you know if everybody here games on a PC/owns a Wii/has a PS3/etc and has played those particular titles? You don’t know the specifics behind the voting and to judge people based solely on your assumptions reflects only on yourself.
a very good point. Not all of the people here have been exposed to greatness that is the N64 i’m sure. I’m 31 yrs old and grew up with the classic systems. Odyssey, Colecovision, 2600, NES, SNES and the rest. I’ve lived through the evolution of gaming and know what a blast it is to play Goldeneye and even Conkers Bad Fur Day multiplayer on the 64. And while i don’t own an XBox i have played Halo 3, and i am working on Halo:CE on the PC. This is not just a Halo board, it’s a place where all gamers can come.
Do not assume that everyone here is voting for Halo just because it’s a fanboard. Everyone votes for their own reasons. Do not suck the fun out of this, just sit back and relax. Kudos to Angel for the idea, next year i hope to see Conkers BFD somewhere in the bracket! ;)
