Whenever we are blessed with a new batch of multiplayer maps, I always get excited for two primary reasons. The first one is playing on them of course, and the second one is getting a chance to revisit one of my favorite frivolous Friday activities, the Halo 3 Heatmap Rorschach Inkblot Tests. Basically we look at a global heatmap and attempt to decipher exactly what it looks like. Before we dig into a new image, let’s recap the last one we did which was an astounding five months ago. When faced with the image of Cold Storage, Skibur said it looks like a “guy who has just done a poop on the floor and is walking on his knees to a desk with a computer on it.” While I instantly saw what he was referring to, the most popular answer (first given by Crunchbite) was that of an iron.
Jordan117 saw something a little more unique and after looking at the provided evidence, I don’t know how this wasn’t more obvious at first glance.
I’m pretty sure Jordan wins the internet with that response. People also commented on the eye in the top left corner. Scary eye is scary! What’s with eyes in Halo images anyways? Before I get more creeped out than I already am, let’s move onto our tenth enlightening psychological evaluation. This week we are dissecting the global heatmap of Assembly so go ahead and tell me, what do you see? And as always, extra nonexistent points for originality!

Although, now that I look at it, it looks like an Elite’s head without the helmet, with those 2 empty circles close the bottom being the eyes.

If you rotate it 90 degress counter clockwise it looks like toad (as in princess peach’s toad) cackling manically, if you rotate it 90 degrees clockwise on the other hand, he looks likes he’s smiling. ooooh.
sorry, forgot to mention. i’m referring ot the more central part, never mind the ‘lines’ on the sides, or as it is, the top and bottom.

Actually, not really. I tried to pretend it looked like a spreading tee, shadows pooled beneath it.
It looked more like a dead cat I once found, the fat, glistening grubs writing blindly, squirming over each other, frantically tunneling away from the light. But even that is avoiding the real horror.
The horror is this: In the end, it is simply a picture of empty meaningless blackness.
We are alone.
There is nothing else.
