Halo Wars releases in the US, Canada, Mexico and South America regions this Tuesday, providing the first opportunity for many Master Chief fanatics to get their hands on a brand new set of Halo 3 maps. If waiting one more day for the much anticipated Mythic Map Pack proves too difficult for you, you can always purchase it from the Xbox Live Marketplace for a mere 99,999
. That’s really quite the steal with the current conversion rate being only $1,249.49 USD! All jokes aside about Microsoft being greedy, money grubbing assholes, obviously this is a placeholder but I am quite curious about one thing: If someone actually paid that price for the product, would they really receive it? I think I’ll let somebody else find out.
Some kid may claim they would pay that to get the maps, but once he or she learns the value of working their money then that claim would reverse.

Halo Wars came out Friday here and I ain’t got the 40 quid for that!
Any content item that is code-only but should be accessible from the Xbox.com Marketplace has this price.
For example, the Golden Lancer/Golden Hammerburst from Gears 2 are 99,999 MSP.
This is because if you have a code and it’s NOT on XBLM, it’ll say the item has been removed when you try and download it. Then, the only way to get the content will be to add it to the Queue from the Xbox 360 Dashboard Purchase History.
I won a code for the Halo Wars demo about 3 days before it was released to the public, but I lost a day because the code didn’t work on Xbox.com, and then it had already been entered so it wouldn’t work on my Xbox either.
Yes we know that. It’s pretty obvious that it’s a placeholder so people can use the codes and no one would be able to actually buy them (I hope no one would spend that much). They did the same with the Banjo Kazooie arcade release for the people who pre-ordered Nuts and Bolts to get it early.
ive had the maps since thursday, they are pretty good i suppose. got most of the achievements as well.
i’ve been wondering about those acheivements for AGES! i thought i’d just missed downloading the maps…

Apparantly you have to HAVE X-box live to get the Mythic maps with your limited edition of halo wars… The whole purpose of me getting the limited over the regular version is so that I wouldn’t have to register to get the new maps.
that way I avoid the fracking homophobic admins who feel that having an alternative lifestyle is worthy of being banned from Live…
You cannot buy this product, since there is a limit on how much MS points you can have on a single account..(20.000 points..)

i have a friend (names will not be mentioned) whos buys microsoft points every payday for him and adds them onto his account….he has about 500k MSP’ and hit download to xbox…….its said file does not exist and he did not loose 100k MSP’s they have that number there to pull our leg or if we found this page it would not be a cheap prise.
the only reason why microsoft released the mythic maps with halo wars was to actually sell said game via pre order because they know that those types of games do not sell well on platform consoles.

putting that price on the map packs is bungie’s way of being a smart ass. If bungie respected there customers they wouldn’t try to force us to buy some gay ass halo wars game just to get the map packs for halo 3. And how fucxxxx long do they expect us to wait before they release it at a heard of price on marketplace. I tell you what if they think I am going to wait till the halo odst comes out to get the map packs for halo 3, bungie can take them map packs and stickem up their asx!

I was reading on a gaming news website that they actually had the required amount of Microsoft Points(Don’t ask me why) and they attempted to purchase it. It gave them a message saying item unavailable or something like that. I saw the article on N4G a few weeks ago if anyone wants to go looking for it.
