This week’s IGN Wednesday 10 features “Smug Hardcore Gamer Quotes” because sometimes knowing you are a hardcore gamer is not nearly as important as making sure everybody else in the room knows it as well. Covering topics from Japanese RPGs vs. Western RPGs, the topic of Halo’s dearly missed pistol rolls in at number two. While the sentiments are intended to be humorously pretentious in nature, they wouldn’t be entertaining if they didn’t include an inkling of truth, right?
Haha, Halo’s was overpowered, Halo 2′s was perfect, and Halo 3′s just sucks.
Yes, it was a true test of skill to see who was best at the god weapon. A weapon is broken when it is its only counter. The best thing about H:CE was if it wasn’t a pistol, it was very balanced with every other weapon.
I like the Halo 3 pistol, it works much like a BR if you dont have 1
The Halo 1 pistol was turrible.

I liked the CE pistol, and I wasn’t even very good with it.
I just miss the sight that it had on it. I could care less whether it has power or not.. I just want it to be accurate

I really liked the H2 magnum before the the first content update If you can remember back far enough). That version still exists in campaign. Unfortunately all the BR kids whined that dual magnums or a SMG+magnum dual could kill them outright in a medium to close range battle. Bungie then nerfed it so badly that it wasn’t even worth picking up after that.
Screw the pistol-its melee was slow and I never could find enough ammo.
Pffft, i never liked that pistol, i found the Plasma Pistol to much more fun. i miss its awesomeness :*[
I like the Halo3 pistol. What other gun has a smiley face on its back looking at you? :)
What!? The pistol isn’t gone, it’s just disguised as a Battle Rifle.
I’m with Shaggydeath, I miss the 2x zoom. I didn’t see the H1 pistol as all that strong.
A 3 shot kill that’s as accurate as the H2 BR (and fires faster to boot) isn’t strong?
