The -minus world put together this clever little Mario-themed ransom note, the premise being it’s a “copy of a ransom letter sent to Mario informing him that the Princess had yet again been kidnapped”. The fun thing is that each individual letter was torn from the logo of a popular video game franchise, console or publication. Let’s see how many we can figure out! To give everybody an opportunity to participate, you may only solve one letter per comment and while you may comment multiple times, you may not post back to back. Cut and paste the answer key (found after the jump) and fill in whichever letter you are solving. I’ll start us off with the second “L” in “all”. As if you’d expect anything else from me, right?

Btw, if your guess isn’t posted in the article, it’s because I wasn’t able to find confirmation it was the correct answer. There are tons of sequels to sift through in some of these cases so if you know the specific title, go ahead and include it.

The “O” in coinz is definetely one of the Mario Titles, I just cant find which one (the shape matches this image of Paper Mario, but its not a green back ground http://files.nintendic.com/wii/virtuale-console/paper-mario/papermario2.jpg).

Actually, he didn’t. If you look at the picture the I and the O touch eachother, but they don’t on the cover to Mario Tennis (N64). At least not in North America. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/fa/Mario_Tennis_box.jpg Also, the green is kinda the wrong green. Just to make a correction, it’s not Metal Gear Solid 3, it’s actually Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (you can tell by looking at both cases).
It’s something minor, but just thought I’d point it out. The rest of the list is correct, from what I skimmed through (I found all of them myself, except the last “O” – which I also thought was StarFox, but upon closer inspection it’s not).
I know the O in “your” has to be from either an N64 or PS1 game though, because I know I’ve seen it before.

The “o” in “coinz” could also be from Mario Golf, but it doesn’t really matter…
The “o” in “your” looks like it has maybe a T or an F in front of it, and maybe a X, Y, or V after it, but I truly have no idea. I keep thinking Starfox, but none exactly match.
