The Viva Piñata Chronicles, Part Three

Once upon a time there was a vibrantly green and luscious garden. The overly attentive caretaker, who was known for being more than a little eccentric, attempted to maintain a peaceful environment for the numerous piñatas who called this garden home. Sometimes she was successful; often times she was not. Welcome to The Viva Piñata Chronicles, the rather unique tale from bs angel’s garden where you are her piñatas.

As the creeping shadows of dusk slowly bled into the outermost corners of the garden, the weary piñatas unconsciously braced themselves for the tumultuous evening ahead. A deceptively beautiful blanket of snow raced against the impending darkness to see who could cover the exposed garden first. The inhospitable cold only seemed to agitate the piñatas as Jim 028 and PinkBulletz14, the recent Newtgat arrivals, continued to clash with Senor Leche and Nid, the longstanding Lickatoad residents. Turmoil would be prevalent throughout the night but happier times would arrive once the sun finally peeked its refreshing rays back out over the land of the piñatas.

Under the concealing shadow of darkness, numerous confrontations broke out in a matter of minutes so the gardener decided the solitary pond was no longer sufficient for the growing legion of water dwellers. Armed with only a shovel and the faint flicker from a rusty old lantern, she set off to dig another pond in the opposite corner of the garden. Yes, it was the middle of the night and yes, it was snowing, but the gardener loved her piñatas and her undying devotion to them was unparalleled. She labored into the wee hours of the morning and once the second body of water was complete, she led the overly aggressive Newtgats to it where they tentatively glided in and reluctantly drifted off to sleep.

After just a few hours of precious sleep, the daily duties of the garden gently nudged the caretaker awake. As mendicantbias00, the helper hired to water the plants, got easily distracted (especially if something pink happened to wander by), the caretaker busied herself with watering the flourishing flowers. Buttercups abound, Buzzlegums found themselves irresistibly attracted to their scent and two visiting bees, bobs99 and Ph4de, decided to stay. They quickly became enthralled with watching soulofaqua the Mousemallow learn new tricks. Decked out in an impressive top hat, soulofaqua’s antics impressed the piñatas so much that he got sent to perform at a party in Transylvania. Ana-Marie had been trying to weave a replica of a Mousemallow but she needed a model to pose before she could complete it. Doing more than just pose, soulofaqua flawlessly performed numerous tricks for Ana-Marie and her guests and was the undeniable hit of the party. Upon arriving home, he celebrated his success by engaging in the romance dance with ALTEX. Needless to say, that performance was just as momentous as his others and yielded a tiny new Mousemallow by the name of Disco.

The theme of the day continued to be “party” as several other piñatas had their chance for carefree carousing as well. Handmade Hero (a high-spirited Pretztail) attended a lavish social affair in France while Senor Leche (a rather lascivious Lickatoad) graciously helped a young lady by the name of Simone celebrate the more casual passing of her driving exam. Upon hearing of his invitation to a housewarming party in China, cd00 (a flamboyant green Whirlm) went to his closet to find the perfect accessory for such a cheerful occasion. Settling on a Carmen Miranda-esque fruit hat, cd00 set off for Nanjing to help the hosts present their new home to their friends.

The boisterous spirit of the rollicking garden continued to attract curious newcomers. Some piñatas came and went; others came and stayed. A sinister Crowla with the appropriate name of CrazedOne1988 stayed hidden amongst the orange trees for the duration of the day then made his home upon a patch of bluebells which provided discreet yet effective camouflage. The comfortable distance made CrazedOne1988 one of the first piñatas to notice the advancing Ruffian that had secretively squeezed between fence posts to gain entrance into the sacred piñata grounds. Unfortunately PinkBulletz14 wasn’t nearly as observant as presenting his back to the evil villain ultimately resulted in his demise. The Ruffian struck covertly and quickly and before the other piñatas could react, PinkBulletz14 was reduced to a pitiful pile of candy. Viktim the Sweetooth, unable to resist the confectionery lure, came into the garden to consume the candied remains. And thus the sweet piñatas said goodbye to an old friend and hello to several new ones, completing the circle of life which was existent even in their remote candy-filled corner of the world.

*If you signed up but weren’t introduced in this first three episodes, fret not. It will take a while to work everybody in the mix but I can guarantee you will have your turn. I just don’t guarantee that you will like it. Muhahahahaha ….
