To make up for the fact that there were no retail releases for the first week of January, Microsoft announced that their super awesome addition (and by super awesome addition I mean a completely lame, rated E, meant for families and clearly lacking in gratuitous sex and violence sort of game) to the Xbox Live Arcade library this week is Interpol. If you happen to like “exciting seek and find games” (unfortunately I don’t think they’re talking about hide the sausage guys), you can download the demo and/or the full game here. The LOTR: Conquest demo also hit the Marketplace this week in case you were looking for something a little more brutal. And free.
If you’d instead prefer to line the already deep pockets of the Harmonix founders, you can spend your hard earned Microsoft Points on Roy Orbison songs for Rock Band 2. Releasing yesterday were six different songs (You Got It, Mean Woman Blues, Claudette, Oh, Pretty Woman, Ooby Dooby and In Dreams) available both as a pack or individually. Guitar Hero World Tour fans shouldn’t feel left out as they received the European Track Pack 02 (which includes “Johnny” by Di-Rect, “Por La Boca Vive El Pez” by Fito & Fitipaldis, and “Degenerated” by Backyard Babies). I’ve never heard of any of those songs but I’m sure they’re just like any other musical download that you play once and then promptly forget about.

the people that make GH:WT are fuck wads! they promised constant new DLC that was GOOD since they dropped the ball with GH:3….so far they have released some decent songs, but recently have released lots of SHIT that no one gives 2 flying fucking fucks about. and why would you choose BYOB by System of a Down as your final fucking song….i’m so pissed i bout it right now….
