I’m not big on New Year’s resolutions (so far the only one I have is “play more video games”) but as we usher in a shiny new 2009, it seems like the perfect opportunity to reflect upon the direction of this site. I know what I enjoy writing but I don’t always know what all of you enjoy reading. A spattering of you send me feedback via email, which is appreciated; others of you stay hidden in the woodwork which is fine as well. I’ve been pondering a few new features though so I’m going to throw them out there for opinions. I also ask that if you have anything specific you’d like to see, please speak up now or forever hold your piece (yeah, I said PIECE). Actually, forever holding your ponderous piece sounds incredibly fun but I’d first have to gently extract it from your own deathlike grip so rather than fight you for it, I ask that you let it go for a split second so you can check out my ideas and then leave a comment about them and whatever other suggestions your twisted mind can come up. Don’t bother telling me to lay off the lame sexual innuendos either. There’s not a chance in hell that will ever happen.

More Crafty Finds
I love crafts, especially video game-themed crafts. I tend to focus on those that are related to Halo but would like to expand beyond that if there is an audience for it

alot of people always seem to complain everywhere on the screenshot site about wanting you to view their fileshare for their pictures, or wondering if you received their submissions from the contact form

I think you should have a daily or weekly debate topic (say, “Avatar or Wii”) and have people respond in the comments. Then, you would decide which side one.

Personally, I love the site how it is. But DethPwn’s idea is a gem-it would give me something to do between captioning contests.

Would you find it more useful with the addition of the downloadable content? Or would you still not find it valuable at all?
DLC would be awesome!! but not just new games, but all DLC cuz i HATE the way the new dashboard is set up its too hard to navigate content
You should most definately invest in some podcast equipment so we can hear your smooth baratones on a regular basis. And how about some in depth video game reviews.
I’d love to see some sort of “Dear Hawty” segment, even if it’s not always directly related to gaming.
I was thinking all downloadable content as well Pikmin. I haven’t navigated through the 360 for that stuff, way too many steps even with the NXE. I get all my updates on the internet and purchase things that way as well.
Definitely on the list of things I’d like to do eventually but it’s not an option at this point in time. I don’t have the time to learn how to have a decent quality podcast (as far as editing and stuff goes) and I’m not willing to release a subpar product. Like I said though, one day I’d love to go there.
It would always be video game related somehow if I decide to do it (which I’m leaning towards!). :)

The “dear hottie” idea is cool, just don’t take it too seriously. I also would like the marketplace updates, just don’t let it turn into MajorNelson’s site.
I would enjoy reviews on games, even if it isn’t a new release every time.

I like the idea of a round-up. I love the “hey this is on special” or the “hey this is some cool free shit” type things.
The dear hawty is a good idea as it will enivitebly end up to do with sex over xbox live.
Anyway here are a few things you should sacrafice in the way of new sections:
Do not change with the navigation system. A lot of sites try to inporve on thing that are fine and end up breaking it completely.
Remove you’r main focus off halo. Yes its fine to report on other games and thats great but once a halo nerd always a halo nerd really.

I like the ‘Dear Hawty’ idea. As for the release reviews, I think a compromise could be struck and do it every two weeks and possibly allow for guest reviews.

Personally I like the idea of you sounding off on your other favorite Sci-fi universes. I.e. StarTrek/Wars, Dead Space, Enders Game, Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, Half-Life. You know, just your opinions on them or whatever news you might come upon during your travels.
I would definitely like some more craft stuff!
