I’m having to go with Louis Wu on this one. He’s by far the community member who’s contributed the most to the Halo community that I’ve been most involved with.
Without Bungie, I would not have found HBO, and without HBO I would not have found any of the great communities that I am proud to be a part of. Wu FTW.

There really isn’t any doubt in my mind who to give this award to. While yes, everyone did an AMAZING job in the field that they contributed too, I feel that the award for Biggest Individual Contributor goes to “Louis Wu” hands down.
Louis Wu, as well as a few others over at HBO, spend quite a bit of time going through countless emails and forum messages to bring the best of the best in all things halo to the eyes of the public. Without Louis Wu, there would be hidden Gems that would remain unseen.

I have a huge amount of appreciation for Wu.
But Bryan Simon came on to the scene and turned out a lot of really high quality stuff in a pretty short amount of time. So for 2008 in and of itself, he’s got my vote.

Firestream in my opinion gets my vote the design of the site looks great but even more impressive is the stat gather for the leader boards which allows you to see were you fit in with the rest of the halo universe. It must have taken a long time to do all the coding and scripts for halocharts.

Another biased vote, but my love goes to bryan simon. His music is funny and creative. He was a nobody, that blew up and became a halo community celebrity. We were in a social slayer pregame lobby, and a kid on the opposite team said “Bryan i love your songs, im a huge fan”, and bryan proceeded to ask this kid to sing one of his songs. I couldnt stop laughing for like ten minutes! When a nobody becomes a somebody, and randoms even love him, then he has done something right.
I would have to say Bryan Simon because his songs inspired me and that I’m also in his fan club. =D

In the end, I voted for DigitalPh33r, due to the immense amount of contributions he has made to the online community. Arby ‘n’ the Chief, Deus Ex Machina, It’s a Wonderful Live, Master Chief Sucks At Halo, and the list goes on. He even gave out machinima making tips for any other aspiring artists. Plus, who doesn’t love an action figure whose entire vocabulary is entirely consisting of lolspeak spoken in the voice of Microsoft Sam?

But the list surprised me. Why is Vociferous from Ascendant Justice there? Instead there’s digitalph33r. His videos are just rude humour, often it’s funny, but there are other brilliant machinimas and producers out there with admittedly better taste.

I voted for DigitalPh33r just because his videos really show what can be done with Halo 3 outside of killing and being killed. His videos are dramatic, funny, and just overall awesome.
Well for best map definatly Avalanche cause it is just a new spin on the Halo 3 Multiplayer and has a near perfect balence of weapons and equiptment, vehicles, ect. For video it was Oh so Beautiful. That video was amazing to me and i never really noticed how hard the Studios worked on it. For Machinima Series Arby n the Chief. I love it and have loved it since the day it came out. Espically “Wedding”. For short video would be the Sancatious Splasertage. It was that video that really got me into the Lazer and it was awesome all together. The person who contributed the most i believe was Digital Ph33r because he even said it himself, he spend at least a grand on music alone and thats not including devices. Bungie.net got my vote for social place because i go there almost every day to watch new videos and find updates. Forge hub is cool.
DigitalPh33r. He has made plenty of videos, that are all actually good, just for his love of Halo. These videos have made people laugh and maybe even cry. They were so awesome, people not fans of the Halo series have enjoyed the videos. He takes his time to do this for us and the community and i am sure he enjoys what he is doing. The other nominees are also great contributors and it was hard to decide. in the end I had chosen and like I said, DigitalPh33r, with his pride, dignity, and righteousness of what he has and is continuing to accomplish. h3 is a good game, it beats halo 2 on its multiplayer capabilities, but the range and well rounded selection of multiplayer maps in h3 still can still be enhanced. my top picks for maps are Damnation, Blood Gulch, Hang ‘em High, Terminal, Headlong, Waterworks. hope the Mythic Maps bring one of those back at least!!!
