Halo 3: Recon is undoubtedly my biggest WOW moment in the gaming world this year. Crazy-Awesomeness.

gonna go with the recon earnable for all. Reason being is that it is shocking to see Bungie take away (or make available, whichever way you look at it) one of the most interesting aspects of their community. Maybe they will do something else, but it feels like they are watering down the importance of recon as a badge of community service.

I voted for the Halo 3: Recon trailer. I shat a brick when that game out and I watched the whole countdown.
The excitement building up to the Halo 3: Recon trailer, the start-stop of the Superintendent viral marketing campaign, and the hype in the Halo community were only surpassed by the beauty and awesomeness of the trailer itself.
My vote goes to H3:Recon. And I also remember Mendi getting me as geeked as he was talking bout it later :D

Recon was definetly the biggest.
Definitely the RECON Trailer. It was a sleek vehicle for goosebump inducing awesomeness. The music, the video, the news of another Halo themed shooter, it was all good.

Bungie’s E3 game announcement pulled by publisher was the biggest Halo news ever. I was quite shocked when I first read that letter that was replacing the countdown timer. ODST/Recon announcement is close second for me.
Halo 3: Recon’s announcement trailer was undoubtedly the biggest news for all Halo fans in 2008. We all knew that more maps were going to be released, and we all knew thatthere wasn’t going to be a new BR spread in TU2. As for the other things, sure, those are news too. But a whole new expansion to Halo 3? HUGE! I remember almost crying I was so excited. A new campaign, new achievements, and a whole new story to explore. Biggest Halo news of 2008? Halo 3: Recon’s announcement trailer.

In my own opinion, I feel that Bungie’s E3 game announcement being pulled by it’s publisher was the biggest Halo news for the 2008 year. Bungie had prepared a nice little Viral campaign with the whole Superintendent thing. They had the countdown graphics up and get an entire fan-base squealing with excitement and anticipation.
Upon the announcement being pulled, many fan’s revolted on the Bungie.Net forums (as well as some of our own personal forums). They felt like Bungie had betrayed them. All sorts of “Why’s” and “Not Fairs” where uttered by fan’s and I as well. Honestly, It was one of the first things that really got my attention (Halo New’s wise.)
Besides, the Halo: ODST announcement was hyped up more by this. It deserves the win IMO.

The Game Announcement that was pulled on E3. Yes that might of upset quite a few people, but word got around fast about it. It almost had as much commotion as did the Superintendent a while back when “he” showed up.
Recon Trailer by far imo. The entire thing was hyped to the max and when it hit…awesomeness ensued.
All of these were big news and players either celebrated or mourned. But only making Recon earnable for all managed to do both.
I think that there was alot of big news this year for halo….but the news of a new game tops.
The announcment of Halo 3: Recon was for me the biggest Halo news. I mean it’s a new game and people had been speculating and wondering about it for so long.

Voted for H3 Recon trailer. I think it was the biggest, unexpected news for me. I kind of already had the other stuff either figured out, or it wasn’t as big as announcing an expansion game.
Recon available to all. Ever since its unavailability to all but a few, Recon has become the most valued prize of all Halo players, as well as one of the biggest poisons, heated arguments, and other crap that has invested the Haloverse. To see it ended is, most likely, the greatest thing that has ever happened to any Halo player or even the entire Halo community. Now that Recon’s here, we can sleep, knowing that another Recon player isn’t getting hacked simply for having Recon.

Let’s face it, we all knew there would be more maps, the new acheivements in the Title Update made that clear, so it wasn’t big news when we finally got the confirmation pictures. Clearly the biggest news is the release of the Halo 3 :Recon ( now ODST) trailer. I mean who hasn’t wanted to play as an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper? I remember when you first see them when you land on Delta Halo, man those guys looked badass, and Now there’s a whole new campaign that revolves around them! the Recon trailer shook the whole Halo community and I can’t wait to play this untold chapter in the Halo Storyline.
Bungie revealing their next game was one of the best moments of the entire year. We were all anticipating what was coming from them next, and it was just an amazing feel when they opened the doors and allowed our eyes to fall apon what is now known as Halo 3: Recon….. I mean Halo 3: ODST….. (soon to be called Halo 3: ODS Steve)
The secret announcement pulled by the publisher got me.

I was pretty surprised with the recon trailer (now ODST). The screenshots look great with plenty of action going on which should make for some fast paced and frantic action.
The build up to the release also brought the community of bungie closer together as people tried to crack cryptic data.

I believe that Recon being available to all was the biggest announcement made by bungie. Did anyone see the forums on b.net and other halo sites? Its become a full scale war (pro-recon and against). Its been insane, to the point that bungie practically lost control of the forums for a few days (at least imo). The dust still hasn’t settled, and probably wont settle until this time next year.

Halo 3: RECON FTW
Overall, I think that the most important announcement would be the Halo 3: Recon [now ODST] trailer. Well, look at the other choices; most revolve around that one subject. The pulling of the E3 announcement? They were going to announce this. It isn’t that important, since it still got announced eventually, and anyways, only a few fanboys died waiting. BR spread? Suck it up, Halo 2 fans. The old-style pistol is gone, and now you can write a eulogy for the old BR. It’s Halo 3, people, stop reveling on the past and stop whining. That’s not an announcement, that is simply denying cheapness. Okay, the Mythic Map Pack being with Halo Wars is a pretty big announcement, but it’s only a downloadable pack, and some of the maps come with Halo 3: ODST, so the trailer still prevails in that account. Recon armor? Once again, only a tidbit of a game already out, and that, once again, is available only after Halo 3: ODST and Halo Wars come out. Anyways, it’s one armor permutation, and you already technically have ten Spartan and five Elite armor permutations. It might have been more important if they made one special armor for Elites as well, but I guess that’s just me. Finally, the name change. That’s not even an announcement. That’s an eraser mark on a poster.

To be honest, the Halo 3: ODST Name Change isn’t very big news.
But still.

Everyone already knew the BR spead would stay so thats now even that big of an announcement. The map pack I could see coming. The Halo:Recon though was a big shocker because it will be something almost completely different from what we see in the regular halos. We are not some super awesome ridiculously pwning soldier. We are just going to be one man/woman of the ODST army. Thats it. nothing else to it. Im really excited about the campaign and even more thrilled about the multiplayer.

I’d have to go with the Halo3:ODST announcement. many people had been curious as to what Bungie could have been working on, and while it was upsetting that it was pulled from E3. It was still presented very well and was a very well made trailer.

Recon trailer was definitly the biggest announcement. Every one thoght that the halo series was done and when they announced Recon( now ODST) it was a huge shock to the halo fans and gaming world. When the announcement got pulled from E3 it was very dissipointing but it was worth the wait. No one really cared about no new BR spread and when they renamed Recon and changed it to ODST that wasn’t that big. Also, i kno how everyone wants recon armor(not really), but its still not really a big announcement.Finally, halo wars was a shock but not that big. Same with the mythic map pack. I’m pretty sure most people knew that there would be another map pack for halo Thats why the Recon trailer was the biggest announcement.

Halo 3:Recon. One, the home page was down on Bungie for 2 days the first time, only for us to be disappointed. The second time, Bungie actually got it through, AND the forums POPPED right away. I believe Halo 3: Recon was HUGE.

i think the mythic maps are the biggest. everybody know new map packs are pretty much done so this could be the last map pack ever for halo 3 and were all hoping its awesome.
I believe the biggest h3 annoucment was probabbly the Halo Wars Limited edition coming out with mythic maps. Ive been waiting FOREVER for this map pack and now we get a sneek peek :D

I voted Recon Armor Will Be Available To All. I never thought this would happen EVER!!!! This made me pretty happy and not because I want it, I could care less for it…it is just an armor. The reason of the joy that rushed through my body was that now all the complaints will stop and those annoying kids that made such a big deal about an armor for a video game will shut up… except those really annoying ones who have no patience…they are probably still going at it.

Voted for the Recon armor for everyone. My reason is as follows.
The E3 announcement being pulled was not unheard of at shows like E3.
The “No New BR Spread in TU2″ was a non-factor in my book since I’m more of a shotgun and assault rifle (up close) fighter in Halo 3.
The trailer was a matter of time since we all knew Bungie had something in the works they weren’t telling us about just yet.
The map pack attachment is nice, and would have been the number one news only to be trumped by the revelation everyone (who isn’t on Bungie’s bad side) will have a chance to get Recon armor.
The name change to “Halo 3: ODST” should have been expected since we have never once seen a person in the Halo series wearing Recon armor and from the very start it made little sense to me to call the game “Halo 3: Recon” when the main character was in ODST armor.

The Halo 3: Recon announcement trailer has been the only piece of news that literally made me squeal with joy. I have always been saddened by the fact that there would not be a Halo 4 but the Recon announcement raised my spirits considerably. This is definitely a worthy replacement!
The Halo 3 Reson trailer rocked the Halo universe like Halo 3 did before. That kept Bungie alive for another 10 years or more. Thats why Halo 3:Recon is worthy for: Biggest Halo News.

I voted for the news story about Bungie not changing the BR spread. Most people will obviously disagree with me about this being the most important news story. Let me enlighten you on how I am more correct. BR’s are actually ingame, so therefore this news effects all the players. Sure, recon armor is cool…but it is just armor. It means nothing to the gameplay. People have wanted the BR changed since the beginning of Halo 3. This announcement put all the haters in their place. The announcement of Halo:ODST is also cool, however, this will just be single player or co-op and not effect the bungie community as a whole other than map packs which you can buy individually. Therefore the BR announcement has been the most important stor.
I believe the Halo 3 Recon or ODST trailer was big news 4 everyone, even people that don’t play the game anymore. I bet they will at least rent the game and play as someone new.

I believe the straight up Halo announcement was the biggest. Everyone was waiting and anticipating the day when Master Chief would finally Finish the Fight.

Mytic Map Pack and the Halo Wars is it, Halo 3 is the only game that I see players still not bored of it yet and with more maps and achievements coming out that is gonna re-spark it once again. And for Halo Wars… I dont think that it is going to be a big of hit as people think but I hope it is, though so far I don’t intend on getting it :P

i think the fact that recon armor will be available to all is the biggest news.I honestly think that most people who want it want it becuase its rare but i want it because its cool so i am glad to hear this news.
