It was a toss up between “Halo” and “Gargoyle”, but I had to go with Gargoyle. The time and quality that went into that is phenomenal!
I went with Gargoyle also, Predator is truly talented in using the floating ball-thingy.
I firts thought I would take predator’s, but Halo was so mind blowing EPIC!
I’ll keep my vote secret and safe for now. :D
Got to go with “Halo” It just looks amazing.
although I find the other ones have more color, something I enjoy, the composition of “Gargoyle” is superb, my vote goes to predator!

I went with the Halo one though all of them are great screenshots!
“Gargoyle” is an important screenshot for a multitude of reasons, once you understand the history behind the shot. Predator not only made a beautiful creation, but he pioneered and revived waning interest in spending time and learning techniques to CREATE Halo 3 art based on what he wants us to see, rather than zooming the camera around explosions and hoping to get lucky with lighting or effects.
“Gargoyle” was not the first 3D Weapon Art creation, nor is it the most perfect. But its seeming simplicity, composition, and genius have meant that, so far, “Gargoyle” has captured the imaginations of millions of players and still counting. 3D Weapon Art creations have exploded since Gargoyle first made Bungie Favorites (put into Bungie Favorites by yours truly, Foman123). But since the very beginning of Halo 3 (with his 9/11 screenshot), Predator has been a pioneer in making this video game his canvas. He is a true artist and, in my opinion, the most influential artist in Halo 3 today. The best screenshot of 2008 can be nothing other than Gargoyle.

Armor Line up.
I choose Predator’s Gargoyle for the sheer talent alone. Althought, OMG Run was a close second.
I’ve always loved Gargoyle. That took a lot of time and patience to set up.
Gargoyle. I envy Pred’s Forge abilities. I personally think “Nightmare” aka “Flood04″ in my service record gallery is better than “ODST Evolved.” No offense, I should have brought it up for nominations I guess.
I’m sorry, but I’m going to be the black sheep here and say “OMG Run!” because it is an actual screenshot and took a quick eye to see as it happened. It’s not something you just zip around through an explosion and get lucky to see, it’s one of those things you have to see as it happens and go “Woa, I gotta come back to that.” While Gargoyle is AMAZING, it’s in-game art, not a screenshot. Going with semantics here, I think the phrase ‘screenshot’ denotes a possible representation of actual gameplay. Though all of the pieces are excellent, ‘Run’ is the closest thing to a representation of something we might actually see whilst playing a game, and thus is the one that most closely adheres to the definition of ‘screenshot’.
Plus, I totally lol’d when I saw it.

OMG RuN!!!!!!! You know, normally all these supposed “funny” screenshots never really catch my eye, but that one was just straight-up hilarious! I never laughed so hard over a screenshot before until I saw that one. So I’m gonna have to go with, “OMG RuN!!!!!!!”
I went for Armor Lineup. From the first moment I saw that screenshot I was in love with it.
I voted for gargoyle because it is the screenshot that looks like it took the most effort to create.

I think predator has the screenshot contest in the bag. Gargoyle was a true work of art, almost looks as scary as he does.
These are all amazing, but Predator has been consistently awesome for so long I’d feel dirty if I didn’t vote for him.

OMG Run is just flat-out funny (no pun intended), but I had to go with Gargoyle.
Gargoyle. Don’t know why, but I’ve always thought gargoyles were cool. This would have been better if I could have chosen like 4.
I voted Halo, Gargoyle is awesome but I’ve seen it so many times it’s just not as great anymore.
I was gonna say gargoyle since I love predator’s work, but I have to give it to Halo, which I hadn’t seen before.

My vote goes to “OMG, Run” because the look on the Eliete’s face is just plain golden.
I’ve gone with Hawtty Shawtty, because it exemplifies what Halo began life all about: Spartans, badass weaponry and a whole new level of killing for kudos.
Gargoyle was pitch perfect but no, not for this; this is supposed to be about a screenshot.
I think OMG, Run! should have been called ‘OMG, Stop Running and Die already!’

Originally voting for ODST Evolved myself, I am once again going to change my vote, and give my vote to “Gargoyle”.
Gargoyle introduced a hard, yet interesting approach to the Art of Halo 3 screenshots. It presented a new option that the vast majority of people where unaware of until checking out this great shot. I for one was one of the many people who went into forge and tried to create my own little floating-object screenie. Gargoyle was not only a very interesting screenshot in the design aspect, but in the overall placement and feel.
The lighting really brings out the elites eyes and makes the image feel as though it really is a gargoyle and not just an elite with floating weapons around him. I am all for thinking outside of the box and Predator did just that. He deserves this award. Kudos to creativity.

Close between OMG Run! and Gargoyle, but in the end Gargoyle won out – I’m always amazed by how people use forge to produce stuff like that.

It was a tie between Hawty Shotty, Gargoyle, and Run. Run was awesome, yes, but effects were lacking, and effects on that pic would have earned my vote. Sadly, it didn’t have it, so now there’s Hawty and Gargoyle. While both present superb visuals and a great artistic value, I must give my vote to Gargoyle with its artistic flare, creativity, and effort. However, he should have named it Sangheili Devil or something because, in my opinion, that looks nothing like an actual gargoyle.
Gargoyle was the first Predator screenshot I saw, and the first floating weapons screenshot. I thought it was awesome and unique. So yea def Gargoyle.

Gargoyle was the first picture I ever saw that just made me grab my mouth and gasp (followed by brief suffocation because of gasping while my hand was on my mouth). It is truly an amazing picture which in turn sparked a whole new genre of picture taking. I love this picture.

For the sheer time and effort predator has putting into making Gargoyle my vote goes to him. Since making these screenshots out of weapons and various other things others have had a go at making their own. Gargoyle motivated the community to go and play around in forge to create art.
These one was hard. I was thinking about halo and Gargoyle. But i had to go with Gargoyle the time and quality was so much better.

i went armor lineup on this, i had never seen it and was def going to vote gargoyle but just something about seeing all the suits lined up that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside
my vote went to gargoyle. There were no fancy explosive effects, its very creative (with the floating weapons), its unique, it was on bungie favorites, and the guy who made it has the most downloads out of anyone who plays Halo 3!!! The floating weapon technique used to get this picture to perfection, has been copied and used for other styles of pictures (ie wings). This one started it all, and imo, is the coolest one.

This was a very close tie for me between “Gargoyle” and “OMG RuN!” Gargoyle has one of the most insanely forged additions to a character I have ever seen, but OMG RuN! hits hard with its devilish simplicity, hilarious execution, and lack of proper English. However, it was decided for me due to the amount of time spent making it. Gargoyle must have taken untold hours and frustration to make those wings, while it took probably 20 seconds to make an Elite look up and run while a Chopper chased it. So, I had to vote for “Gargoyle.”
“OMG RuN!” is the funniest picture I’ve seen thus far. I’m definitely going with that.
“Armor Lineup” because it shows all the customization that Halo 3 has to offer.

It was also close for me too. I was choosing either between Halo or OMG RUN.
Halo being the more artful and serious picture shows the great dedication and creativity of the artist.
OMG RUN gives a more humorous and one of those, not staged but just had to be there moments.
So I went with OMG RUN because I am more into the real and everyday situations of Halo. I could not say that I never went into one day of halo and be like, “wow what just happened!”

Gargoyle, I thought it was modded at first but then i saw that the wings were weapons. It was amazing how predator did that, I still wonder how long it took.

I am very disappointed in you guys.Halo and Gargoyle are winning.Yes they are good but too fancy.I picked ODST Evolved for one reason only.Its simple yet AWSOME!A simple effect turns out to be a world wide shot.Nominated for the best.Gargoyle has had its fame as well as Halo.SO have the authors(By the way I mean NO disrespect to the authors).But we need to start over.New Halo players will take SS.Post them every where just to be laughed at.Start over.Vote for the simple shot.I did.And it was easy.
This was a really really tough one. In the end i chose OMG RuN! because when i first saw it on the bungie.net homepage on one of their updates, i laughed at its awesomeness. I cannot honestly see a better way for that picture to have turned out. There goes my vote for this one.

The hardest one (you’ll guess)
I had to choose Hawtty Shotty. All of the others were inquisitive and badass and I congratulate all the nominees on there work. The choice was hard but I had to choose something that made me think “This is Halo…this is MasterChief.” Armor Lineup – pretty cool I liked the variety but didn’t have THEE MC…Gargoyle – Awesome and creepy I love it, but it doesn’t say Halo much….ODST Evolved – Was insane and would love a poster of that on my wall :) but it wasn’t MC ya know but still, sick….OMG Run – Lol this picture is pretty awesome it really looks like the elite is running from the chopper, seems like a cartoon…good for laughs, but didn’t speak to me the way I wanted. It was down to Halo or Hawtty Shotty and I chose Hawtty Shotty…when I looked at Halo I thought badass, intense, unstoppable type of picture but the Spartan didnt make me think “Master Chief” Hawtty Shotty and that sense like this is Master Chief, he just fought off a horde of enemies and escaped an inferno of disaster with just himself and a shotty. This sounds intense, powerful, invincible, and total badass to me. That is why I had made my decision. All of them were amazing though, good luck to all nominees.

A tuxedo cat had a real bright & original idea there with using every halo 3 armour,Predator is amazing with forge art I could never be at his level,Jeeborz caught my eye with that pic & it just made me wounder when I first saw it,Dusty my old friend I swear I made a replica of that shot & I love it,& Atmoic ehh it is very funny I can say but I just dont see much originality.

I would have to go with the ‘OMG Run!’ screenshot simply because it takes a keen and sharp eye to spot at the such the right time, screenshots like Gargoyle however are simply ‘in-game art’ which can be done anytime.
