New Screenshot of Halo 3′s Upcoming Map Orbital

This week’s Bungie Weekly Update included, among other newsy tidbits, a beautiful new screenshot of the upcoming map Orbital. An empty UNSC space platform comprised of two asymmetrical overlapping tunnel hallways, Orbital is one of three maps collectively known as the Mythic Map Pack which is scheduled to be released in conjunction with Halo Wars in March 2009. One click of the image will make it freakin’ ass huge. Go ahead, touch it. You know you want to.

I thought mythic map pack was 6 maps.
Nice. Noticed this on the B.net update. The close up view of one of the monitors looks like the skyline view of Mombasa from the ODST trailer.
I did touch it…and it was glorious!
It is fantastic looking!! excuse me while I snipe someone out of happiness.
I believe we get 3 maps with the launch of halo wars then some more with the ODST launch.
i touched it and it got bigger!!
my only question is what is map number 3
Orbital looks good, it looks like it might be able to accomodate vehicles like Warthogs to, but wether things like that would be out of place on this perticular map I don’t know, seeing as there is only one screenshot. However, one of the monitors in this screenshot appears to show what might be the layout of the map, and if that’s correct, then it looks pretty big.
Also, does anybody remember the switches from the campaign level The Storm to open the doors? the big door appears to have one, perhaps it will be operable? kind of like a High-ground infiltrate the base to open the door and let the vehicles roll on in sort of thing? that would be good.
Also, didn’t Bungie say this map was supposed to be quite dark when it was code-named “Space-Camp”? oh well, either way this looks set to be one of my favourite maps.
I touched it and my bum tingled.
I came. ;)
I left.
STOKED!

you have no idea how literal that statement is when your viewing this blog post on an iphone.
