After weeks of being topped by the likes of Marcus Fenix and Soap MacTavish, Master Chief has finally made his triumphant return to the #1 spot on the Xbox 360 Top Live Titles list. Gamers apparently helped themselves to a generous serving of Halo 3 with their traditional Thanksgiving meals as it was the top played title on Xbox Live for the week of November 24th. Perhaps it will retain the crowning position next week as well with the Legendary Map Pack ‘Holiday Deal Of The Week’ and the chance to earn the highly sought after Recon armor. Hit the jump for all of last week’s top titles (including Arcade games and Xbox Original games) then go play some Halo as you’ve apparently already been doing.

Woot! halo 3! It still hasn’t lost it’s appeal, i see.
I’m happy Cod4 is still up there…otherwise it’s going to get hard to find matches quickly.

I don’t think Halo 3 rose to the top, but more that gamers that were playing CoD4 are now split between CoD4, CoD5, and Gears 2. Halo 3 will always have it’s loyal following of fanboys (and girls), while other gamers tend to move from one game to another. I kind of wish Major Nelson would publish the actual #’s of unique users that he uses to compile his list, then we could really track how popular a game is over time.

I think code monkey is dead on.
Will be interesting to see what happens after xmas, when a lot of people are not forced to wait to play a game thats already out…. I have a few friends who are playing Halo/COD4 just because their wives/family wont let them buy whatever new game they want because of xmas.

i just want to know if this is compiled by games played or time played or something else… because if its either of those, asking who played what could get even more complicated… what with one person playing multiple titles in one week

The stats he compiles are based on Unique Users.

Ooohhh…my fiancee is going to be pissed that Kingdom for Keflings wasn’t #1 for XBLA. She loves that game. Hmmm, if I remember correctly someone else on here loves that game as well…

Im glad Halo 3 redeemed its spot on the top, it really deserves it.
I think its because Bungie puts so much thought and effort into their community, something ive yet to see from Infinity Ward, Epic Games(Gears),
and other major game devlopers.

I wanted Kingdom for Keflings, but I heard it was a little too simple or easy. Can anyone confirm or deny that for me?

I think that is part of the charm for the game. It is both easy and simple. There is no antagonist. You just “farm” resources and build buildings, which unlock bigger buildings which require more resources. It’s very much a “god game” and almost a mix of Black and White and the Sims.

W00t! H3 is still the best game out there…with the different dimensions of the multiplayer, forge, films..etc. People who haven’t played it don’t understand. GoW2 and CoD(any flavor) are still fun games…but don’t have the lasting appeal that the Halo series has had. It’s all about the fans…and Bungie knows it. Lucky for us! :)
Oh, and K4K is super fun…a good break from shooting bad kids in the face. :) I do need my mutliplayer banners…I finished my castle last night. :)
