Black Friday Video Game Deals 2008

The holiday shopping season officially starts on Friday, November 28th. You can often find some amazing deals if you are willing to fight the anxious masses that begin their shopping adventures before the break of dawn. Be warned, bargain shopping is not for the weak. I recommend you pack an overshield and perhaps some extra health if you are going to venture out the day after Thanksgiving. Here are some of the deals on video game related items that are going to be making a dent in your wallet on this year’s Black Friday.

Wait…is KMart even having sales?? Gears of War 2 for 59.99???

Also…umm from everything I have heard…might want to take Rock Revolution off the list…lest some unwary parent stumble onto that article and mistake it for Rock Band or Guitar Hero. O_O The horror…..

I remember being surprised last year by how many stores advertised full price video games as Black Friday deals. Hopefully there aren’t as many this year.

This year… the deals just don’t seem to be that great.
The retailers have left me unimpressed.
This will be my first Black Friday working retail (I have to be to work at 4am) and I think the shoppers are going to be sorely disappointed. You’ve seen the ad leaks on BlackFriday.info, and there really hasn’t been anything spectacular.
Cheap but crappy HDTV here, a laptop that cost too much in the first place on sale…

Sorry if I am bringing everybody down, but maybe I am just spoiled by my employee discount, plus I keep getting free stuff, lol.

  5. I hope any gamestop deals are done at Canadian EBs. Same company.

BTW I’ll sent you a 360 friend request tonight.

  6. I’ve heard rumors from my pals at the local Gamestop that they are having a Buy one, get one sale on used games for black friday. :o) I can definitely go for that!

  7. Wow, Circuit City has some sweet deals, too bad they don’t exist in Canada and are now bankrupt.

  8. Thanks for making all of the info so organized :)

that battery from Radio Shack sounds like a pretty sweet deal, does anyone happen to know if it’s worth the money?

my nearest Shack is about 45 min. away :-S

The only really good deal that caught my attention is the 3-month XBL card at Target. That’s as cheap as if you do the 12-month deal right now and you can make it so you wouldn’t have to have a credit card listed on your account (phished accounts et al)

I have plenty of 3-month cards because apparently my dog loves the taste of XBL headsets so we’ve had to buy about 5 “starter packs” which are the headset, 3-month card, and 400MS points. If those were on sale anywhere I’d buy all of them!!

why even label circuit city as having deals? they are all clearance sails… EVERYTHING MUST GO… so we can sell the store…

i will be going to the one that is closing near me this weekend to see if i can get something thats too cheap to believe… who needs holiday sails when you have poor business choices?

Holiday sails would be cool though. Ya know what would be even cooler? Video game-themed holiday sails. I could totally go for a Master Chief wearing a Santa hat to adorn my boat. If I had a boat that is. ;)

  17. My wallet still thinks it’s expensive despite the sale. Then again, what’s the use? We don’t have Black Friday sales where I come from. :(

    You guys are fricking lucky.
