Pounding with Multiple Mallets

So apparently there is a funky instrument called the marimba that belongs to the percussion family. It is played by using mallets that strike keys which are typically made out of wood. My introduction to this rather unique sounding instrument was this video in which someone, who is clearly more musically inclined than I am, plays the Halo theme song on it. Before someone craps their pants because they’ve already seen this particular video, I will tell you beforehand that it is almost two years old. I hadn’t seen it yet so I’m sure there are at least a few others that haven’t as well. So all of you “old video is old” Caption Obvious types can suck it. Suck it I tell you!
haha. I used to play marimba (among other percussion) in sixth grade band. I could play one song. Also I quit 4 weeks in because I had to miss p.e. and library time to do band.

never seen that before. very cool. Yet one more thing in this world I will never be able to do.
I suppose I could have played this back in elementary school music class at some point. Those memories are long gone unfortunately since it was so freakin’ long ago!

yay! i used to play marimba back in the days of high school. i could have probably learned that back then. not now though…. you should see some dudes play holding three mallets in each hand, now that’s tough!
That’s probably the best marimba video I’ve ever seen.
