To the hardworking and underappreciated Halo 3 Matchmaking Veto Gods,
I know it can’t be easy coming up with a new gametype after the initial one is vetoed. You have only seconds to appease a finicky crowd that was clearly displeased with your first choice. Day after day, night after night, playlist after playlist, gametype after gametype, I’m sure it’s a daunting task that slowly wears you down. I would like to offer you a few words of advice after noticing a trend you have recently been developing. Lately after vetoing Territories, I have been getting Land Grab. Or after vetoing Land Grab, I instead get Territories. While I have tried to be forgiving since in theory they are actually different gametypes, last night you pushed me too far. Our room successfully vetoed Shotty Snipers only to then get Shotty Snipers. If I wanted to play that crappy gametype, I wouldn’t have fucking vetoed it! FIX YOUR SHIT ALREADY! kthxbai.

Ouch. Reminds me of the multiple times I vetoed One Bomb only to get Multi CTF. Then someone didn’t load the map, and it went straight back to One Bomb.

I vetoed a gametype, and got sent back to the player searching screen……
The veto gods practically gave me the middle finger on that one.

I was struck many times by the Veto Gods while playing the other night to the point that I gave up and went to sleep.
Good vetoes and the alternate was worse, nearly the same, or Identical to what was vetoed. Voices of the masses were not heard!
Besides I was tired.
i love when i veto splasers only to get rockets or when you veto shotty snipers and get snipers…
the worst is when it shows a good map/gametype, then suddenly changes it to 1 sided VIP on Anvil, your like hey wtf? there was no veto…then a veto pops up and you veto Anvil only to get landgrab on boundless…i loathe you o veto gods

On a totally off subject though, I’ve noticed that recently, I’ve been saying Fix your shit a lot in daily life, or variations of the statement. Like in choir class, I turned to this guy and was like “Learn your shit”

I remember a lot of times like this, it was loading up team doubles and I said to my friend “I bet we get something terrible like Snowbound” like I usually do, and then it came up with Snowbound, we moaned and groaned, and then it magically decided to change itself to team slayer on Guardian ^_^
It happens the other way around to, “I bet we get something terrible like Snowbound”-Team slayer on the Pit…loading….loading….SNOWBOUND >_<

I believe that the veto gods punish you fro vetoing with something worse. (Well, OK, I don’t really believe that, but it’s a fun superstition to put forward in the pre-game lobby when the post-veto choices are less desirable than the pre-veto ones.)
I have long wished that you could see what you would get if you vetoed before you vetoed. So rather than simply saying “not this” and getting some other random game and map it would be “pick A or B”. Of course it would be even better if you could independently pick between the two choices for the map and the two choices for the game type.
I’d like to see something along the lines of this:
VIP on Snowbound
Press X for Multi CTF or Y For Vahalla
I once vetoed so hard it threw me into a Halo 2 match.
