I haven’t been keeping up much on the RRoD epidemic, so consequently I don’t know about this towel trick everyone seems to be alluding to. As my box has recently suffered a general hardware failure, I would be most appreciative if you would excuse my ignorance and enlighten me with this remedy.
You don’t really want to do it. The way it works is you wrap your xbox in a towel cutting off it’s venting areas. The super heat then melts the broken circuit back together and your xbox works again. Unfortunately this also voids out the warranty. So play it safe and just send it in. The towel doesn’t always work.
My brother tried that trick on our 360 (while also using a hair dryer to speed the process up even more) when it RRoD’d the first time and it wasn’t called out on voiding a warranty. It only prolonged the life of the 360 by 3 days though. I wouldn’t recomend it because it could cause other problems that AREN’T as covered as RRoD and I may have gotten lucky for getting away with it. It’s weird though. I always thought the towel trick was used because it wouldn’t technically void the warranty. Of course, you’re intentionally overheating it so I suppose it does…
Quick, towel trick!
Epic Win
Hah, that’s awesome.
I lolled myself
Some people may not consider that sexual…but twice in one day, nice!
Omg thats so funny!

yeh!
“?”
It’s the Red Ring of Death…
RRoD
It’s what happens to the Ring of Light when your Xbox 360 overheats, melts it’s insides, and dies.
Cheers! -Socket
RRoD on a massive scale. Evacuate the building! before it melts!
Oh, now it’s funny. :P

That’s going to need one big towel……

But if your 360 does ever RRoD dont do the towel trick, it makes it worse, it just melts the Heatsink paste and makes it worse.
also dont buy an intercooler, they just blow in air where the air is trying to come out…Thats the stupidest invention ever
My wife can’t seem to figure out why I dislike Target. Perhaps I should show her this…
