Myth: All Halo Videos Have Crappy Music

  • Can you four shot an Elite?
  • Is it possible to br a rocket?
  • Is there a spot on the neck of an Elite where bullets can pass through without damaging the player?
  • Can bs angel make it through a single article without cracking a codpiece joke?

If you have ever found yourself unable to sleep at night because you couldn’t stop thinking about one of the above questions, this mildly informative Halo 3 Mythbusters video is for you. The grenade sequence in the beginning drags on but if you can make it through that, the rest is fairly entertaining. Besides the fact that I now have the urge to play baseball with a gravity hammer and missile pod, the best part of the video was that I didn’t have to turn my speakers off. The myth that all Halo videos have completely unbearable crappy ass music? Busted! They just have barely bearable crappy ass music, that’s all.

Interesting video, who’s up for a game of baseball :D

  2. Aperture S says:

There is also a Part 1:

  3. AusQB says:

That part about the Elite neck is actually quite concerning. Prepare for onslaught of SWAT psychopaths. My solution: shoot the head.

  4. Aperture S says:

I never knew Elites are harder to shoot in SWAT.

Now I know why in most SWAT games there is always a team of Elites.

  5. Rhamsey says:

a spot where my sniper bullets pass through the elites neck? that explains so much.
the most interesting one was that you can stick a weapon before someone picks it up and it gives you the stick.

  6. TheChrisD says:

    Woo, part 2 :)

  7. AT-AT says:

I’d rather not have music in them at all. Two, a plasma can stick a frag. Look at the Bungie Favs video Rubber, Glue (or Under, Over, I forget which its called; These guys are very poor at the Scientific Method. One Test does not prove anything. 20 or more tests with greater than 95% of the results being one outcome do). Three, anything that creates force (explosions, hammers, etc) will alter the path of non bullet projectiles. Four, anything that impacts a rocket (bullet, grenade, person, etc) causes it to explode. Five, for the Elite neck test, I noticed they only used one Head, rather than all five as with the 4-shot test. Further evidence is required to make a general statement. Six, if a player’s weapon passes through any geometry, any attack that connects with it (stick, bullets, melee, etc) causes damage to the player.

  8. PikminGod says:

if the player does not move backwards after his/her weapon was stuck through geometry, they will not be injured…

  9. Zep 077 says:

AT-AT, I remember that seeing video too.

Also, you are a genius. Here’s a cookie.

  10. Predator5791 says:

Wow Bungie should fix that Elite neck thing

  11. Naepa34 says:

pretty good. Since when was a grenade altering a rocket a myth? I’ve almost always known it.

  12. newguy2445 says:

I’d hate to think my Halo Music Videos would be considered to have crappy music :P

But I enjoy this series, most of the confirmed myths may come in handy in MM.
I hope Bungie fixes the Elite neck one though, that’s a terrible thing. Especially with how hard it is to kill one in SWAT(from behind) already, we don’t need holes in their heads! :P

  13. Fezzer says:

One time I repeatedly tried to “4-shot” an Elite and in most instances you can’t from a reasonable distance. These guys were jamming their BR down the elite’s throat. How often do you 4-shot someone that way?

Load up a custom and try it from a good distance on a Spartan and Elite model. Opposite ends of the center platform on Guardian or Lockout would be a good stage. You will find that ~90% of the time that the Elite will not go down in 4 shots. It takes at least 5 (and 6 in a few instances).

  14. AT-AT says:

I find killing Elites in normal Slayer just as easy as killing a Spartan. IE, having to take down a shield first allows ample time to line up with the head. SWAT is where they’re a real pain in the backside. Also, I find it difficult to 4-shot anything at more than the distance from Forerunner hill to the Flood arch on isolation (I’m not good at pegging numbers to distances), but that’s because of the Battle Rifle spread than the character model.

  16. KaiserKold says:

AT-AT: They did use all elite helmets… pay attention.

  17. AT-AT says:

Yes, they did use all 5 helmets on the 4 Shot. They did not use all 5 helmets on the neck pass through. Re-parse my original statement, “Five, for the Elite neck test, I noticed they only used one Head, rather than all five as with the 4-shot test.”
