I played Gears of War for the second time Friday evening. While I purchased it at launch, I spent less than an hour with it before deciding it wasn’t for me. Spending significantly more time playing through the campaign allowed me to make a few key observations, the main one being I absolutely hate it when they put their fingers to their ear to listen to whoever is blabbing on about whatever, causing them to walk painfully slow because apparently they are incapable of walking and talking at the same time. It is absolutely torturous. Especially when you just finish a super slow walking part, breathe a sign of relief that it is over, and then they immediately start walking super slow again. I swear my blood pressure went up every time that happened. Drop the fucking steroids so your brain can grow beyond the size of a pea, preferably before the sequel comes out please. By the way, if your mom is hanging out with Delta Squad, I’m pretty sure she’s not a classy lady. Nor is she very satisfied. You know what they say about steroid users and their penis size.

You get annoyed easily I guess. Me, I still think this game rocks
The PC version has an extra level, which is very amusing.

The walk&talk sequences were extraordinarily annoying, particularly when they came after checkpoints, but before particularly difficult points. They are designed to mask loading times, but their ill placement made them more aggravating than they needed to be.
The good news is that it’s been promised that those are gone in the sequel.

I watched videos of gameplay, because I thought about getting it. But…eh, I think I know what you mean.

Wow, cant deal with load screens, i guess you would prefer a big halo illuminating before each board that you needed to get to, no offense but deal with it, its part of the gameplay, what did you think about the mechanics themselves, forget about the loading and just look at that and come back to it.
You probably would like mp better, except i know what matchmaking in halo 3 is like and gow doesnt even come close

I dont like G.O.W.’s matchmaking one bit.

What matchmaking? There is no matchmaking. Its strictly a search for host basis. That’s partly EPIC’s fault (they didn’t have time to implement to meet the deadline). But as Blezenski said in an interview, partying and matchmaking should be a built in feature of Live (and I agree).

Actually, yes. I loved the H3 load screen, I think its beautiful to watch. Mechanics wise, I thought that there was a lot lacking in GoW, however for a launch title, they did an amazing job. I need to finish the campaign so that I know whats going on for GoW2!
=D

Overall my general first impressions are that the AI is not very intelligent, the music cues continually ruin any sense of building tension, some of the cut scenes are painfully long, and I personally am struggling with the aiming as I am an FPS-er and typically don’t play from the third person perspective. However, while that may seem harsh, I don’t consider any of those things to be deal breakers. I am very much looking forward to finishing the campaign.
And, since you called out Halo, I will say that I hold many of the same opinions about that game as well. The parts where you walk slow while Cortana is talking is tiring after the first run through and their AI (both opponents and allies) is not that smart either.

I completely agree with everything you said BS.
