Get Rocked By Master Chief All Night Long

It’s confession time. Every once in a blue moon I come across an eBay treasure that I want so bad that I choose to not write an article about it. The last time that happened was when I laid eyes upon an amazing toilet seat with an Elite carved into it. There was a Master Chief version that I carried but I purposely omitted any mention of the Covenant one to increase my chances of winning the auction. I’m not embarrassed to admit it worked and my Halo-themed toilet seat has been adorning the underside of my bed for the past nine months. Speaking of which, I need to install that sucker. You can bet there will be pictures when I manage to get off my lazy ass and get it done. So anyways, I am having another one of those moments right now but am opting to share my find instead of keeping it to myself. I mean it’s awesome and all but it’s not an Elite toilet seat or anything.

Purchase here : newobmij’s eBay Store
Starting bid : US $20.00

You are probably looking at this bundle that includes a custom Halo-themed Les Paul guitar controller, two extra faceplates, Guitar Hero II and Guitar Hero III and wondering why I haven’t bid yet. I need a new guitar right now as my current Les Paul has been on the fritz for the past few months (the orange button goes out intermittently) but I am debating between purchasing an older but more reliable X-plorer guitar or simply waiting for the next generation of instruments to come out. The prospect of fretting Master Chief all night long may just be too tempting to pass up though. Give it to me baby, uh huh, uh huh!

UPDATE : This item sold for US $86.00.

That is one I would bid on, but out of courtesy to a Halo fan bigger than I, I shall pass on this one. However that guitar is bad ass.

*I plan on getting RB2 Bundle in October anyway and customizing the geetar anyway!*

    =D

I’m a little scared about customizing controllers and guitar faceplates because your hands are on them constantly. A faceplate, you push a button now and then and it’s good. I experimented by painting my own controller and I’m playing through Lost Odyssey, a 100-hour game. I’ll see how it goes, and I may expand my horizons a bit.

If I had the Halo 360 then I would bid.

Mendicant, what are you going to do with your Rock Band 2 guitar?

I always see custom controllers for sale as well SpaceGhost but it hadn’t occurred to me that the paint could wear off. I guess I assume they are treated or coated in a certain way to prevent that. Let us know how your experiment goes!

Dang, I wish the RB guitar had a exchangeable faceplates. I would totally buy a blank one and make something like that.

    Something Halo I think.

Not 100% sure yet, but I would really like it to match my H3 Box and Chief Helmet. I have been searching for a gold/bronze chrome paint or foil to use for highlights. The paint job I would like to resemble UNSC standard equipment. If that doesn’t work then I would like to attempt a covenant/forerunner feel. When I start I’ll make sure to keep the progress updated.

    =)

How many more people are going to try and leech off Halo’s success??

Maybe I worded that a bit strongly, but it’s just my opinion… in the form of a question lol

  12. Shame, I thought it was a real guitar with a Halo 3 theme. That would rock even more. Very nice customization on the pseudo Les Paul, by the way. I wonder who made that.
