“You can’t judge a book by its cover” is a popular idiom meaning things are not always how they appear. Take the following Halo 3 screenshots for example. By first glance they all seem to be arousing examples of hot Spartan porn, but that really couldn’t be further from the truth. Gather your own conclusions from each picture and then find out what’s really going on. You just may be surprised.

Purple Reign Speculations Run Rampant

My intelligent, in-depth observations concerning Luke’s drawing of an upcoming Halo 3 map titled Purple Reign apparently left some people wanting more as they began discussing, dissecting, and otherwise speculating upon every last sketched detail. While the most repeated remark is the noting of the similarities to Midship (a Halo 2 map I personally didn’t care for but one that many people called a favorite), a few other worthwhile points were also mentioned. In my forum, tinycg brought up his thoughts that the image presented on the last Bungie Weekly Update was purposely warped to make the final details more vague to those viewing it. He then stretched the image to the proportions that he thought were accurate. Let’s compare the two images, the first being Luke’s original drawing and the second being tinycg’s modified image.

Wii Fit Signed by the “Wii Fit Girl”

The wildly popular “Why every guy should buy their girlfriend Wii Fit” video has gotten 5,493,051 views to date. Not too shabby for a one minute long video of someone playing with a virtual hula hoop, eh? Lauren Bernat, the undies and t-shirt wearing girl featured in the video, even managed to extend her 15 minutes of fame with an appearance on MTV’s TRL. Fans that have taken a liking to her now have a chance to buy a brand new Nintendo Wii Fit signed by the Wii Fit Girl herself.

While the Wii Fit retails for approximately $90, there still appears to be an overall shortage as new bundles are currently selling for $120-$130 on eBay (come on Nintendo, fix your shit already). That puts the worth of her autograph at approximately $30-$40 before bidding even starts. Is her internet stardom potent enough to spark a potentially pricey bidding war, or has the novelty of the 15 minutes already worn off? Unless you find an auction for the version signed by the Wii Fit Boy, I don’t think I care.
